Two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor - 2nd degree for taking the photo, 3rd for having it in her possession. The warrant listed her as the adult perpetrator and the minor victim. She faces prison and lifelong registry as a sex offender. To quote Lewis Black, "What the f#$%?!" Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it. |

Yes, and if a 20 year old woman seduces a 15 year old boy, it's statuatory rape. If she gets pregnant, the victim of the rape (the boy) is liable for child support: the "victim" is forced to pay the "criminal." |

Court cannot force an abortion even on a person who became pregnant through a criminal act of her own doing. So, once a child is born, the court is now looking in favor of the interests of this third party over the other two. As they say in a paragraph in the article. :...the interests of Melanie "the only truly innocent party", are superior to her parents. It was generally felt that with all the crime in NJ the prosecutor was focused in a really weird direction but I doubt that was legally sufficient to challenge the act. |

The media generally are not too alarmist on this. Russia has bolstered Assad all along; Russia has had a naval base in Syria for a long time. They have interests there and of course never did want Syria to come under further Western control or influence. The speculation seems to be that they will assist Assad in taking on ISIS. It may be that they themselves are speculating about a future US effort to take on ISIS and do not want to *not* have boots on the ground themselves if this develops. Who knows how alarmed the Pentagon might be? I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |
