Texas blocks former Chinese military official from building a wind farm on 140,000 acres.

China buying up US farmland. Entitled to taxpayer subsidies.

Cleveland Indians are now the Cleveland Guardians.

If this upsets you in any way, shape, or form: you may be a snowflake.

I guess there are snowflakes on both sides, that's fair. Could always just call them the Cleveland Cucks, both words start with a C.

Oh, congratulations! You guys have finally made up for hundreds of years of fighting and driving the indigenous people of this country off of their lands. I'm sure they will be celebrating from their trailers with boarded up windows and no air conditioning in the plains of Oklahoma.

That 30-something percent poverty rate, instantly eradicated, because a bunch of rich dudes playing a game for a team owned by a bunch of people even more wealthy than them is now calling themselves something else.

The Far Left never does anything that matters. Gay marriage is the last thing that was accomplished that actually mattered.

I don’t care about baseball. Especially the Cleveland team. Just think it’s funny certain people are getting their panties in a twist over such an inconsequential thing as a name change.

I have a lot of family members who are Tigers fans. I can’t think of anything more depressing that being a Tigers fan.

Exactly, most of the people crying for this change probably don't care about baseball. They were also the first, 'Certain people,' getting their panties in a twist over changing names that had already existed.

I also agree that it is inconsequential, which is my entire point. If you want to help Native Americans, I don't know, maybe donate to them or visit a tribal land and spend money in their stores, perhaps lose it in a few of their casinos...I really don't see how changing a team nickname from one thing to another materially affects them.

I heard a similar argument about taking down confederate statues Paraphrase: why are you getting panties in a bunch over them? To which I say, "If they're meaningless to you, we'll just remove them if you think it shouldn't matter to either of us. You need do nothing. We'll do the job of taking them down."
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

That's fine. Confederate statues represent a country that was created to uprise against, and separate from, the United States of America. They are seen by many as symbols of hate, and consequently, I support them coming down.

Another difference is that these statues are often presented on lands owned by various levels of Government. The Cleveland Indians are a privately owned franchise who can call themselves whatever they want to and should not be compelled, by anything outside of their own accord and perspective, to do otherwise.

But, again, it's inconsequential.

My criticism is not that the name was changed. You figure, sooner or later. My criticism is that the name was changed without doing anything to materially improve the lives of Native Americans first which will probably not be done at all because the Far Left does not care about Native Americans. They care about being outraged at something.

Great.

This "root out all references to native Americans in white man's culture" movement may backfire.

Most of us rarely ever bother to think about Native Americans, and when we do it is often triggered by seeing a co-opted Native American term used as a team name, a school mascot, or some such other thing.

Now that won't happen, and "Out of sight, out of mind."

Thats not what I am finding
Its no longer the Custer National Monument.
Its the Little Big Horn National Monument
Indian graves are now marked and honored.
Thats great progress

Regarding Custer.
I think he saw Reno getting his butt kicked
I think Custer enjoyed this
He hated Reno
Custer was thinking he will grab victory where Reno failed and become a huge hero
I think Custer actually reached the river itself to do personal recon ahead of his 210 men detachment
Custer saw his chance, round up the women and children and win. Its worked before
I think Custer was shot at the river and died or was dying well before the last stand
I think thats why is detachment failed.
No organization. They had civilians with them. WTF. Custer's young nephew was there. No doubt panicked retreat to last stand hill
Think it was his brother that used Custer's gun on last stand hill
This is depending on some Indian accounts of the battle
The only eyewitnesses to survive and were not believed after the battle
I believe them
