This was in the news last month, but I didn't notice.

Walmart's $1000 bonuses aren't all they are cracked up to be.

To get the full $1000, you have to be a 20 year employee. Employees with less than 2 years, for example, only get $200.
To get any bonus, you can't be one of the employees affected by the wage hike to $11.
The average bonus given out, with those two factors, will be $190 over all employees.

Cost of one-time bonus program $400 million
Cost of wage increases $300 million / year, or $3 billion over 10 years.
estimated 10 year tax savings $18 billion (i.e. $18,000 million)

9,000 to 11,000 layoffs due to sam's club closings (depending on source)
3,500 "co-manager" layoffs, affected workers can apply for lower-paying "assistant manager" positions

That is true, however a parade without lobbing cruise missiles at weddings is chump change comparatively speaking to the active wars we are engaged in right now.

Indeed they are. Autoline has recently been saying that 2018 may be make or break. If he does not soon make a profit, the serious players will quit shoveling money into it. TSLA's cash burn is something like $8,000 per minute, think on that one. I've said on here for years not that Musk is selling stock, not cars. The Model 3 is showing they do not have even the basics down.

I see shades of what we saw in the dotcom bust. Company burning cash with no end in sight so do flashy things to distract everyone.
