137,079,727 car owners didn't die yesterday either. I guess we should just let everybody drive.

Probably 99.9999% of people didn't die yesterday from food poisoning. I guess we should just cancel food inspections, it's safe.

No airplane crashes happened yesterday. I guess we have no need for Air Traffic Control.

The question is, how effective are safety measures?

Given the lack of deaths by guns, car accidents, food poisoning, and airplane crashes it seems we are doing pretty good. No real need for more laws given how good we are doing. In fact we could probably get rid of a few at little risk.

They should ban guns in Iraq. Then ISIS won't be able to shoot anymore people.

ISIS militants still pressing forward in Iraq

That depends on your point of view, which is severely affected by whether you have been personally affected by any of these and your general political views and whether they are biased toward socialism or conservatism. As for gun control specifics, is a manslaughter charge = death of an innocent?. If someone else dies by a complete accident, how is the victim and their families supposed to be paid for the loss? The numbers are exteremely small to you, but will loom large if it's someone you know. Or is that just the ancilliary costs of the 2nd amendment.

Accidental deaths are going to happen. And I will trade the chance that I or someone I know will die in return for freedom. My chances of dying in a car accident are about 4 times greater than by gunfire yet I do not walk everywhere I go. In fct the chances are more than 4 times greater as I do not engage in activities that increase my chances of death by firearms; an example being I do not engage in the drug trade.

The beauty of the 2nd Amendment is it gives you the right but not the obligation to bear arms. If one does not want to own a gun then one does not have to do so.

A 93 year old woman used a gun to win the "Knockout Game" and made sure the kid will never play it again!

“I was waiting at the bus stop and suddenly felt this sharp pain to the left side of my body. The blunt force was so strong that it knocked me down. When I looked up I could see a group of thugs laughing at me. Then one of them started kicking me. So before they had a chance to do more harm, I reached in my purse, pulled out my gun and shot the main aggressor. Luckily they all ran after that. I was terrified. I thought they were going to kill me.”

I guess she could have just waited for the cops to come?

Tennessee teen fatally shot after friend’s gun allegedly discharges through floor

"James Tyler Wisdom was pronounced dead in his kitchen at about 1 a.m. Sunday after being shot once in the head, Colombia Tenn. police told WZTV.

Wisdom's friend Ryan Frederick, who served in the Army Reserve for 7 years and holds a gun permit, told the Fox affiliate that he was showing off his new handgun to a friend upstairs when it accidentally went off."

Do you really want to play this game?

Yes, I do. Because as I have said, accidents happen with other things besides guns, but we don't try to ban cars, swimming pools, etc.

A 93 year old woman possibly saved her life, yet you are saying she should not have the right to do that because some kids were fooling around? Really?

A "game"? A freakin "game"?!?!

That is the most unbelievable reply I've seen so far. A woman's life is saved because of a firearm, yet libs respond as if it's some sort of article-posting game. Unfortunately, this is the type of mentality that we're up against in America. *sigh*
