No, what i'm saying is that women didn't have the right to vote until the 19th Amendment, 1920. Heck, what about the 18th Amendment?

I still don't get why the tangent. Women have a Constitutional right to vote.

Quote:
My point is that the constitution changes over time, so i wonder if you would support a constitutional amendment to the 2nd amendment?

Sure I would! I would clear it up and simplify it to "The right of citizens to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

Quote:
i wonder, if the internet existed in 1919, whether you would be screaming about these women pushing for a vote, or whether you would be bent out of shape in 1865 when slavery was about to be abolished.

I still don't get the correlation.

Quote:
Accidents of course, AZ, are preventable. Or is that your tax on the stupid?

If we could tax stupid the Treasury would be overflowing. On a serious side, risk and answers are part of life. I practice safe firearms handling, other should as well. We don't need laws on it.

Quote:
I could imagine that some parents would happily buy that technology if it would prevent their kid / spouse / relative from finding it and using it.

Some might, easier to secure your weapon if this is a concern than have a technology that may fail when it is needed most. How often do you need to reset a iphone, or windows? Do you want that chance to jam your gun when you need it or let it fire when it shouldn't? As I have said dozens of times, if you do not want a firearm, don't own one. Keep the government out of my bedroom.
The President is a fink.

I don't think any of us would "support it" any more than you would support criminalizing homosexuality.

But, we'd at least respect it if it came to pass. And that's what really gets me mad enough to spit. It's a right granted by the 2nd, one of the most important documents in all of history. If you don't like, there IS a way to change it. It's a process that's well defined and has been performed before, with success.

But all these mental defectives in office aren't doing that. They're not following proper procedure, they're not obeying the law the were sworn to uphold. They're holding secret meetings and jamming legislation through before anyone who votes on it gets to read it and before the public is even made aware of it. They are rapists, pure and simple. And no one, not even the most fervent anti-gunner, should stand for it.
Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it.

You don't actually believe the majority of those in power like the Constitution, do you?

I don't give a rotten wet fart if they like it or not. I don't like casinos, but since I work in one, I follow their rules and do everything I can to support their cause. It my JOB.

This ain't some commercial entity where breaking the rules damages integrity or a bottom line. This is our GD country. What they are doing is criminal. We see these other countries that rip their leaders out of their palace and flog them through the streets. Many think it's barbaric. I think it's about time.

Knife wounds are in many ways far worse than bullet wounds.
.

I've read many times that knives are much
more frightening than guns when you need
to defend yourself. Nobody likes getting
cut, we all know what it's like. Very few
people get shot, so we're afraid of it in the
abstract.

There's something primal about a knife,
it strikes instant fear on a subconscious
level. I keep a razor sharp 10" survival
knife on a coat rack by the back door.
And a 14 1/2" Bowie knife in my office. This
is also razor sharp and frightens me
just holding it. It looks just like this:

I also have a heavy iron sword for self
defense. Last ditch, after guns and knives.

It's a replica of a mideval war sword. Has a dull
edge and a sharp point. It's very heavy, you don't
want to get hit with it, and for sure it would go
right through a person if you wanted it to.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Gay marriage doesn't take place in the bedroom. Gay behavior does.

Insinuating that gay marriage opponents also want to ban gay behavior is just another way of trying to shift the argument.

On the Chipotle tough guys, I wish they were here so I could headbutt them directly. I can't ever condone this. There is just no reason for it.

You're not alone. The NRA has decided to distance themselves from these fast food restaurant gun activists in Texas.

On Friday, the NRA released a statement calling their fast food activism "weird" and noted that the activism had backfired by inadvertantly encouraging Sonic, Chili's, and Chipotle to rescind their previously lenient policies on guns. From the NRA's press release: "the freedom and goodwill these businesses had previously extended to gun owners has been curtailed because of the actions of an attention-hungry few who thought only of themselves and not of those who might be affected by their behavior. To state the obvious, that's counterproductive for the gun owning community. More to the point, it's just not neighborly, which is out of character for the big-hearted residents of Texas. Using guns merely to draw attention to yourself in public not only defies common sense, it shows a lack of consideration and manners. That's not the Texas way. And that's certainly not the NRA way."

But now the fast food gun activists in Texas are furious at the NRA for being spineless. "The more the NRA continues to divide its members by attacking some aspects of gun rights instead of supporting all gun rights, the more support it will lose," Open Carry Texas said in a statement published Monday on its Facebook page.
