Why did they plant all the grass up there?

Can you imagine the mansions they would build up there? Every home would have a helipad.

It was the BH mansion from the
outside only. The show was shot
on a set in Burbank for the interiors.

I know. The linked tour of the the interior is far more elegant than the few props usually displayed on the BH set.

The home was built in 1992 and many people observed that it looks like an office building.

Tyler Perry apparently bought it as an investment in 2017 for $14.5 million and, without changing it much, flipped it back on the market five months later. Pharrell Williams purchased the property in 2018 from Tyler Perry, for $15.6 million.

The listing states “endless potential here to fix it up, and make one of the most unique mansions in Los Angeles”, which obviously means that it is in bad shape.

Drake's ( among the world's best-selling music artists, with over 170 million records sold) Toronto mansion. The home measures 50,000 square feet (over one acre), with amenities such as an NBA regulation-size indoor basketball court crowned by a 21-square-foot pyramidal skylight.

Office building in China. Interesting story.
Wasn't the Empire State Building only
half full for like it's first 20 years or so?
This skyscraper in China was poorly
designed, 50% of the space you pay
for is unuseable because of how the
outside was designed.

Slightly less than 20 years.

The Empire State Building was primarily designed to house corporate offices, but it got off to a rocky start thanks to the 1929 stock market crash and the onset of the Great Depression. Less than 25 percent of the building’s retail space was occupied upon its opening in 1931, earning it the nickname the “Empty State Building.” The building’s owners were reduced to engineering publicity stunts to draw renters—including hosting a 1932 séance that tried to contact the ghost of Thomas Edison from the 82nd floor—but the skyscraper’s upper half remained almost entirely vacant for most of the 1930s. At times, workers were even told to turn on lights on the higher floors to create the illusion that they were occupied. It wasn’t until World War II that the building finally became profitable.

Supertall Skyscrapers have always been primarily about ego, as they are not really practical. Ranking by year constructed, you see that there were only four buildings built taller than the ESB from 1931 to 2009 (78 years ). They were Aon & Willis in Chicago and WTC1 & WTC2 in NYC.

12 tallest buildings in US- height in feet - number of stories
1931 Empire State Building 1250' 102
1973 Aon Center 1136' 83 (not as tall as ESB) - CHICAGO
1974 Willis {Sears} Tower  1451' 108 - CHICAGO
2009 Bank of America Tower 1200' 55 (not as tall as ESB)
2009 Trump International Hotel and Tower 1389' 98 - CHICAGO
2014 One World Trade Center 1776' 104
2015 432 Park Avenue 1396' 85
2019 30 Hudson Yards 1268' 73
2020 Vista Tower 1198' 101 (not as tall as ESB) - CHICAGO
2020 One Vanderbilt 1401' 67
2020 111 West 57th Street 1428' 82
2020 Central Park Tower 1550' 131

The ego has shifted from office buildings where they could at least be pretending to look for profit to residential buildings.

More than 70 people entered a bidding war to buy an abandoned Cold War-era missile silo complex in North Dakota.
The site has 14 launch sites for Sprint missiles, which were designed as the last line of defense against Soviet weapons.
Despite 70 bidders, the price only reached $52,500, which the seller rejected.
