Just visited the Arbor Lodge in Nebraska City. This is the family that started Arbor day. What started as a 4 room house ended as a 52 room mansion. Outside walls became indoor walls. Last addition completed 1904 including a bowling alley.
The entry way immediately to the right of the stairs was the original front door. Lots of Tiffany stained glass decorates the home

Guess I missed some pop culture event. A house in Florida being modeled on the Palace of Versailles in France was badly damage by water of Ian.

There is a 10 YO documentary about the wife.

Construction of Versailles began in 2004. The home is 90,000 square feet and will be one of the 5 most expensive homes in the US.
