Elon Musk has reportedly been staying at his friend's $12 million dollar mansion in Austin. It's a friend from his PayPal days. Elon Musk denies he is living there, but he does admit to staying for a night here and there.

Elon Musk owns a $66M jet and is worh $274 billion. He could purchase a thousand homes like this if he wanted. Why is it such a big deal/

House for $1000. With all the money you save on house payments, you might feel like you own a mansion in your wallet.

Gazprom, the Russian natural gas supplier, occupies about two thirds of the total office space.

In addition to office space, the Lakhta Center Tower features a 360-meter-high observation deck and a restaurant with panoramic views, while the remainder of the complex is made up of multiple other facilities such as a scientific and educational center, a planetarium, a concert hall, an amphitheater, and a number of public squares.

The building is a 40 minute drive from the port where the ferries come in from Stockholm, Helsinki, Latvia and Estonia.

The first photo looks like a giant mechanical pencil. Perhaps Putin has political enemies sit on the top.

How could they possibly build that now? See how close it is to sea level. It will be under water in another 10 years because of global warming!!!!!

Yeah right.

The Gulf of Finland is rising at the rate of roughly 1/8 inch per year.

Global warming is very likely to increase hurricanes at mid-level latitudes affecting places like New York.

But the Neva Bay (average depth 20 feet) where St Petersburg and this building are located is subject to catastrophic flooding which occurred in 1824 and 1924. Global warming is thought to increase the chances of it happening again, so flood prevention facility complex was under construction from 1978-2011 (subject to frequent interruptions).

The worst flood recorded in 1824 involved increased water level of 14 feet, so the dam is 26 feet high. The openings for the ships would be closed in the event of a flood.

There is an 88 mile road which uses the dam and a tunnel under the shipping channel to encircle the city. For comparison the Washington DC beltway is 64 miles.

The Centre is close to city center.
