I would say of the US, not of the world. The witch trials were on the wane when Salem occurred.

A century earlier the Witch Trials of Trier in Germany was the biggest witch trial in European history. In the city alone three hundred and sixty-eight people, were mass execution. The total number in the countryside may have reached 1000.All were burned alive, and 22 villages were affected. In two villages only one woman was left alive. Victims included men and children in addition to women.

The Doruchów witch trial, took place almost a century after Salem and and was the last mass trial of sorcery and witchcraft in Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. As many as 6-14 women were executed.

I was into Paganism 20 years ago and studied
a lot about it. Some very nasty times in Europe
for about 700 years. In some places just not going
to church at least once a day put you on the
suspect list. Good Christians went twice a day.

Bob - you are becoming way to negative even for me.
No matter what I post now, you bring up something negative immediately.
I did not say the death of "witches" were cool - I said the ability to be able to read history is cool.

I know a lot about that part of US history, so
I answered accordingly. I'm not negative,
it's the way I am. I like what I like and don't
like what I don't. I never tailor my comments
so they might be taken a certain way, I just
state them as I feel. That's why I have 16,000+
posts on WoV and only 1 suspension. People
don't like a lot of what I say, so they think I
should be banned all the time. But I never say
anything bannable, I'm just stating my opinion.

I never said anything you said is bannable
I am a negative person by nature and when I read your posts I realize how I must come across and I realize I need to change -- the negativity is too much for the limited time we have on this planet

I don't see it as negative. Why do you? If I don't
trust women, say, is that negative or a fact. Should
I say I do when I don't? I like lots of things and
don't like lots of things, not liking something isn't
negative, it's just the way it is.

To me being negative is always taking that side no
matter how you feel. If you're true to your feelings,
how can that be negative.

In the FB thread I was very positive, I love FB.

In the prison thread I was very positive.

Piranha thread I was in total agreement with you.

Dating thread I was factual, and on your side.

Smoking thread I was factual.

Expensive divorce thread I was factual.

I did say you have a thing for Betty White in the BW
thread, that was pretty negative.

Bible thread I was factual.

EV God I was factual.

This goes back a year, check it out. Not one
negative post in your threads.
