I think if you are unemployed the Dow means bupkus. But for the 95% ish that want to be employed and will be, and all the retirees, the Dow (or S & P, or NASDAQ) is a better indicator of 'the economy'.

My point is if YOU are not unemployed it really doesn't matter if the unemployment rate is 3.5% or 4.5%.

Also, what if the unemployment rate is still in double digits come November as many are now predicting?

Good question! My guess is that the Democrats, scared shitless over a possible Sanders nomination, had to pick someone. Biden had a plurality, the VP experience, and name recognition, and at least the appearance of being 'central' enough to be palatable. Biden was golden during the debates. All the other dems were ordered that bidens personal problems, like his health and Hunter Biden, we're off limits. This will not be true with Trump. He has already stated that once he gets going on the campaign trail he's going to mention Hunter Biden every chance he gets. It's Joe biden's Achilles heel. Hunter Biden is why Trump was impeached, you
think he's going to forget all about that? He will gut Biden every chance he gets over the corruption of his family and Ukraine and China.

So anyway, everything EB has said about Biden, Trump is going to absolutely slaughter Biden at the debate. Wipe the floor with him. Run the table. Knock him out in the first round!

What else could he mean? There's virtually no chance Biden will do anything but mumble confused sentences.

And that is what the left just does not get. They think they are forever on campus, not in the real world. You can go back to Algore. He had all his facts and numbers memorized, yet he got clobbered in all 3 debates because he came across as an unlikable elitist.

It will go the same way this time. Trump is just far more likable than Biden. Biden is a sack of fertilizer on stage, no personality.

I don't know what will happen in the debates before the general election, but Biden lost traction as the Democrat debates started:

His opening position was strong, so he survived as others had to drop out. Most of his debate performances were average or worse.

I still think the overall status of the country through the emergency as November arrives is more important than the debates.
