So expressing an opinion about what the potential outcome of an opinion piece is not acceptable in your opinion?

Nowhere did I even come close to saying that.

I simply wanted to point out the dishonesty of linking to an opinion piece and saying that it represents the views of the newspaper that published it.

It blurs the line. It is a Times employee, right? Not a guest writer with the usual "The Times does not endorse....". Whether or not it is the 'official' opinion of the NYT, it is an interesting slant on the topic, and worthy of discussion.

By the way, I hate the idea that a newspaper has an opinion on anything..... Just report the news, please.... (fat chance), and let me decide....

I agree with AMS
The NYT may print opinions and do. I used to be a Washington Post reader back in the day. They printed opinion pieces from the left and the right
But
NYT does not stand behind those opinions. These are individual writers expressing personal opinions. Overall meaningless
Unlike news stories
The NYT stands behind all their stories. They are meaningful.
Huge massive difference, not even close

"In a statement, Julie Adams said their legal counsel has reviewed the relevant statute governing such records and advised that “the Secretary has no discretion to disclose any such information as requested in Vice President Biden’s letter of May 1.”"

I wonder if Joe's people already knew this would be the answer...

I see no way to really do an investigation at this point without a body to do it and access to all of the information. SOOPOO is correct, in my opinion, that it is up to the people to decide the outcome as far as Biden's run for President goes.

I'm asking, as I do not know the answer. Isn't the opinion piece writer an employee of the New York Times?
To me, that is WAY different from having different 'guests' write opinion pieces from both sides of the spectrum.
Like when there is an opinion piece from "Green Matters", and on the other side is one from "Oil is Great".
But neither is affiliated with the New York Times.

Rush was back today. He says the only way Biden will
win the nomination is if he insists on not dropping
out. Because the rest of the party is already hinting
that's what they want him to do. And if he does win
the nomination Rush says he'll either find a way to
get out of the debates or only do one. If he does
manage to make it the 6 months to election day, which
is doubtful, so much will be known about him and
his closet full of skeletons that there's no way he
could beat anybody, let alone Trump. Rush wants
him to go the distance just for the entertainment
value of the media tearing it's hair out every time
Biden screws up.

Rush has never liked Joe Biden. He calls him a
political clown. About 20 years ago Biden was losing
his hair and he got hair plugs, he looked ridiculous.
Ever since then Rush has called him Plugs Biden, or just
Plugs. I sometimes wonder if he even remembers
that his name is Joe. LOL

From someone smarter than Rush on Twitter:

Quote:
Folks, Biden's going nowhere if a. he is continuing to beat Trump in the polls, which so far he is. b. Dem voters/elected officials are sticking by him, which so far they are.

Rush also said today that Dems know better than to look at the polls this far out from the election. They learned their lesson in 2016 when every poll had Hillary beating Trump right up to election day. Polls are now meaningless when it comes to presidential elections.

I posted my prediction a while ago that Biden would never debate Trump.

Interesting op-ed in the NYT by
Obama campaign bigwigs Axelrod
and Plouff, Pluff, or whatever his
name is. They say if Biden wants
to have a chance of beating
Trump, he has to do things the
opposite of what he's doing now.

He has to put himself out there
everyday. Like Trump did in 16.
He has to go on radio shows, on
TV shows, do tons of interviews
even if they're from his basement.
He has to get some energy, like
Bernie has. He has to have better
ads that do things other than
attack Trump. He has to generate
some excitement for his campaign,
because right now he has none.
He holds a virtual townhall on
the internet and 1700 people
watch it. Pitiful.

In other words, be anybody but
the liver spotted gonna be 78
years old senile low energy
elderly rest home specimen that
he is. Good luck with that.
