I think it’s simpler to go by whether hospitalizations are increasing or decreasing for each state.

2019 deaths in US by cause
Heart disease: 659,041 (~1800 per day)
Cancer: 599,601
=================================> Present rate of Covid deaths over 200,000 per year (585 daily rate x 365)
Accidents (unintentional injuries): 173,040
Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 156,979
Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 150,005
Alzheimer’s disease: 121,499
Diabetes: 87,647
Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis: 51,565
Influenza and Pneumonia: 49,783
Intentional self-harm (suicide): 47,511

It's still a little early to throw caution to the wind. Of course, we are way down from the rolling average of 3400 deaths per day in January. Cumulative deaths in the US have now passed 600,0000 and will almost certainly pass the 675,000 cumulative deaths of the 1918 flu epidemic.

Murders in the US are roughly 45-50 per day.

Nevada GOP candidate for governor who hadn't been vaccinated tests positive for coronavirus

Exciting times.

We are basically at the point where anyone who gets COVID has only themselves to blame.

You’re too stupid to get vaccinated? Awww, how sad.

Insurance companies should deny coverage for covid-necessitated treatment to people who had the chance to get the vaccine but refused to do so.

Plus make their family bear the freight of burying them, not the gov't.

Yes lets start down that rabbit hole. Coverage should also be denied to people who use tobacco, alcohol, cannabis. How about unprotected sex, drive vehicles, ride bikes on public roads, ride mountain bike, dirt bikes. Why should people that are obese, black, live in poor neighborhoods get coverage. They all die younger and are less healthy.

Actually better let's just implement the system in Logan's Run. Nobody lives past thirty that will solve the problem.

If they made it 40 instead of 30 I would agree.

The best system would be if people were 30 years old when they were born. Their brains would be fully developed then.

Don't be silly.

All you need to do is get a shot or two: what's the problem?

We did it with polio vaccine without all this politicized oppositional defiance.

I have my vaccination but I don't believe people should be forced to take one. I got mine because I felt it was a net plus for me. It wasn't the spot I wanted to draw the line. We all have some place where we will draw the line and fight. It is not up to me or you to tell other people where that spot it is.

There was a poll of unvaccinated Americans for Covid and 20% of them said they didn't get the shots because they couldn't afford it. To me that sums up the mentality of those who didn't get it.
