The Taliban doesn't want the Kabul airport disabled, the Taliban want to be a recognized country. Russia and China both have working embassy's there and plan to continue. There are nearly 100 country's ready to recognize the Taliban as the legitimate government of Afghanistan.

They aren't doing an open slaughter of civilians, they want a country. They just didn't want the "democracy" we handed them with puppet leaders that were yes men to Washington.
