Why would it piss off the GOP?

It's a mixed bag with Republicans
Some support Ukraine
Some don't. Mostly Trumpers and there a lot in congress

A Russian ship has been detected at an offshore wind farm in the North Sea as it tried to map out energy infrastructure, MIVD head General Jan Swillens said at a news conference.
The vessel was escorted out of the North Sea by Dutch marine and coast guard ships before any sabotage effort could become successful, he added.

“Russia is secretly charting this infrastructure and is undertaking activities which indicate preparations for disruption and sabotage”, the agencies said.
Covert threats by Russia to water and energy supplies in the Netherlands were also conceivable.

The Netherlands said on Saturday it would expel an undisclosed number of Russian diplomats as it accused Russia of continuously bringing in spies under diplomatic cover.
It also ordered Russia to close its trade mission in Amsterdam and said it would shut down the Dutch consulate in Saint Petersburg.

From my perspective most republicans support Ukraine. I would be surprised if the majority didn't.

Biden does an unprecedented move and enters a warzone and a country that is actively being invaded (without a U.S. military presence) to show solidarity.

Say what you want, this takes guts and deserves respect. Pretty baller move. Sure, many Presidents visit countries under invasion in U.S. military bases, but this is next level. In fact I do not think it has every been done since pre-WWII.

Easy for him since he probably wasn't told where he was going. He arrived after a 10 hr train ride and a guarantee from Putin not to bomb Kyiv well he was there.

So when he stays home he is avoiding danger, and if he goes to potentially the most dangerous place in the world he is aloof?

I think there is nothing that he can do to change your mind.

Any President that goes on that trip with a minimal security presence (by presidential standards) has guts.

Justin the Canadian Prime Minister was there in May. Big deal.
