Past time to broker an end to this thing if you want to keep pretending you’re world leader, a continuous blank check isn’t going to be enough to keep up that reputation anymore.

Outcome already known Russia lost but needs to find a way out with least damage, in best interest to everyone but Ukraine (which appears to be mostly concerned with maximum punishment now) to get it done.

I think a Ukraine deal needs to include an automatic NATO membership. That's the only thing that's an iron clad guarantee to any future invasion, or as close as it gets.

Putn will never ever admit Russia lost. NEVER
Putin doesnt give a crap about the planet
There is no deal to broker as long as Putin remains in power

No, Russia invaded Ukraine, they have no say in what deal Ukraine should be pressured to accept. Nor should Ukraine be pressured to accept any deal.

The longer this goes on the better it will get for Ukraine. By the time this ends Ukraine will have a military to rival Israel. With even more foreign volunteers.

The deal that should end this is Russia removing from all Ukraine territory, Russia de-annexing Crimea, and Ukraine entering NATO. Russia will never go for this though. In the meantime, let Russia destroy itself on the world stage by expanding conscription and sending obsolete equipment into the battlefield.

If anything, this war shows that the only thing to be feared by from Russia is nuclear weapons, their traditional forces are virtually useless.

Every day that this war continues is a day that is good for The West.

I don't agree with this at all. I believe if it drags on into summer 2024 NATO support will wane and money will begin to dry up and Russia will eventually prevail.

Prior to this war Ukraine had almost zero chance of getting into NATO. I still think they will need a lot of work on their political system before an invitation is offered.

I don't think so, people said that the first few months (and every month since), and so far we have been shown length works in Ukraine's favor.

Russia actively invading a European country will keep NATO's attention.

Also, it is worth noting Ukraine only has to outlive Putin (or at least his presidency). I don't think the invasion will continue with most possible successors.

If China starts rearming Russia then the complexion of the war will change completely.

That is unlikely, but even if it happens it will not change much. Russia had the tech advantage in the beginning (at least on paper). Russia is losing because they don't have the people (I don't mean the numbers, I mean the people the people who want to be there). All of the new weapons in the world will not help this.

Russia's Army is already reliant on conscripts and mercenaries, they have almost nobody who is there by choice. This will not improve for Russia with more weapons, money, or time.

Ukrainians know what's in store for them if Putin wins. Putin's not even kind to his own citizens. Ukrainians are fighting for the only reasonable option they can see.
