Biden doesn’t sanction billionaire linked to Hunter — despite actions against prominent Russians

President Biden kept his son Hunter’s alleged business associate Yelena Baturina off the list of new sanctions he announced Friday against prominent Russians to mark the first anniversary of the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine.

Biden’s administration touted in a press release that it adopted “more than 2,500 sanctions” so far to cripple Russia’s economy and halt the war, but Baturina again skated by as about 200 more people and entities were sanctioned Friday.

White House spokespeople would not supply an on-record comment about Baturina’s remarkable good fortune.

Baturina, the billionaire widow of Moscow’s longtime former Mayor Yury Luzhkov, allegedly paid $3.5 million to a firm associated with Hunter Biden in February 2014 while his father was vice president.

Records from a laptop abandoned by Hunter years later indicate that the then-second son met with his business partner Devon Archer and Baturina less than two months later at Lake Como in Italy.

Baturina’s $3.5 million transfer was first revealed in a September 2020 report by Republican-led Senate committees, which cited suspicious activity reports filed by banks with the US government.

Further reporting has linked Baturina’s funds to US real estate purchases, including in Brooklyn.

Like many other business dealings of Hunter and first brother James Biden, the Biden family’s financial relationship with Baturina remains murky.

I would remove the doubt, in the case of a Russian person wiring finds to benefit a relative.

We've used spies from other countries to work for us if they turn against their own country. We use criminal figures to work against their own organized crime connections.

And that could be why Hunter is not in prison (CIA).

Otherwise, he'd be long gone IMO.

Drug addicts are known to lie and steal from their own parents. Hunter Biden was not a reliable source of much of anything while he was addicted.

Hunter, if with the CIA, could have been infiltrating the CCP when they flew together on Air Force One in 2013 when Joe was the VP.

Then later, after all the crazy conspiracy theorists began to bring the lie of Hunter's laptop into question in regards to CCP business dealings, would make sense.

Joe Biden has had controversy on and off through his history mostly on things he says and he has a long history of public service to examine. This kind of corruption to occur doesn't really fit with his history, unlike Trump, who has nothing but lots of shady history to consider. That his son had plenty of problems doesn't mean Joe Biden had anything to do with it.

I don't necessarily believe Biden didn't do things over time that most politicians do that are Quazi-ethical at best. If his son was working at a company, might Joe tend not to single it out if it's sketchy. Sure, quite possible. But that's almost impossible to prove and you need people testifying under penalty of perjury not everything else.
