Ukraine conflict

I was listening to something and they drew any interesting parallel. Basically they were comparing Ukraine to the U.S. during the Revolutionary war. The small country with barely any military fighting the large beast to protect their own land. The British are the Russians trying to overpower the U.S. with a direct in your face army that adheres to traditional tactics. The U.S. was being crushed and changed tactics to an asymmetrical war by fighting in ways that have not been seen before. For example, hiding in the woods and shooting from concealed positions, that was not how war was fought. The parallel is Ukraine using drone warfare to surprise and baffle the enemy. We beat the British by prolonging the war to the point where Britain could not justify the costs to keep it going. That appears to be exactly what Ukraine is doing right now. Also, the U.S. was being supported by the French like we are supporting Ukraine. I found it pretty interesting.


On another note they were discussing political parties and how things seem to be changing. In the 1800's the Republicans were the anti-war party and the people of organized labor. This completely flipped after the 1930's to the position of the Democrats. Today it is the Republican party (Trump) trying to stop the war at all costs while the Democrats seem to be supporting war and encouraging that we keep Ukraine fighting. Who is it that is trying to cut government spending and bloat, currently that is Trump where normally we have expected the Democrats to take that position. Lastly, the vast majority of labor unions supported Trump in this election where normally we would expect that to be the Democrats. I found it pretty interesting.

Nobody in Russia wants to fight Ukraine except Putin
A smart negotiator would press Putin

Putin has to be looking for a way out
Having Trump in his pocket aint enough

I don’t want to make my reply over your stupid, and it’s nothing but stupid, ‘Putin has Trump blah blah blah’. Trump may do stupid things, but NO ONE has him.

Anyway, my point is with your post mentioning 800,000 dead/wounded/ etc…That is such a sad staggering number. For every one of those there are scores of friends/family/loved ones who suffer as well in the loss. Right now there is a measles outbreak in the US, and I believe it is GIANT NEWS because two people have died. What is wrong with humanity that such a war is going on? Sacrificing millions young men for what exactly? Or Israel/Gaza. Hutu/Tutsi. Shia/Sunni. Etc….

Does Trump have the stones to tell Putin that unless he ends things quickly on terms the USA can accept that we will then fully fund Ukraine as before, and even give them more advanced weaponry?

Those are "the cards" that the oaf should play.

I agree but you are assuming that Trump is looking for the same outcome that we are. he may be thinking, "I promised a quick end to the war" so if I can stop it under any circumstances I can claim it as a win for me. Without worrying about the welfare of either side the quickest way to end it is probably to make Ukraine capitulate.

I guess Biden was right trying to hold back Israel in Gaza, Lebanon, Iran, Yemen Houthis, and other disparate groups BECAUSE IT WOULD LEAD TO PEACE!

Only thing we need to hold Ukraine back from doing is the war crimes Russia has been committing since the beginning of this war.

Ukraine still has western European support
The smart move is to pressure Putin
No doubt his advisors see this as well
But
Trump can't bring himself to do this
Fascinating dynamic as he can't bring himself to do the logical thing

All deaths are unequal when it comes to the media.
Look at the interest in Gabby Petito.
Way more Palestinian women and children have died in Gaza then Israeli women in children in Israel recently but of course those deaths are not equal to you or the Jewish media.
It's about what interests the public and that's why Gabby is famous.
Look at Laci Peterson death. Gerragos wanted to move the Scott Peterson trial. The Judge asked where because his wife was in Italy and the death was big news there.
I'm very interested in the measles deaths
You are part of the Trump cult so you have no interest in these preventable deaths because it makes your MAGA anti vaccine cult look bad. It makes Trumps pick, RFK Jr look bad. He's pushing vitamin A instead of vaccines. More children will die. I'm interested in these stories and the media knows it. Measles should be eradicated but because of the MAGA cult, it's not. To me this is news and I'll continue to appreciate the media that reports these unnecessary deaths. The media reporting deaths is a reflection of what the public wants to consume as news. Americans dying is way more important to me then Russian soldier deaths. That's the way the majority of Americans think. This is reality and the media knows it. They are in the business of making money and will report on whatever gets eyeballs. Gabby gets eyeballs. Laci Peterson got eyeballs, even in Italy. Children dying from measles gets eyeballs. Can you handle that? This is the way it's always been throughout the history of mankind
