I remember getting a day off from school when LBJ died. I felt a little guilty for enjoying the day off for what was supposed to be a solemn occasion. I don’t recall schools closing for a national day of mourning since, at least around here.

If we buy Greenland, I wonder if they'll be assigning land grants like we did in the USA.

I might apply for 10,000 acres.

The land will mostly stay federal. Feds aint giving it away anymore.

There are 535,251,200 acres in Greenland.

If the population of the USA is 350,000,000 then there is a little over 1 acre per citizen.

So to get 10,000 acres, 10,000 folks would have to "not" apply for a land grant.

I'd imagine a land grantee would have to reside on the land, which is the purpose.

1. The government is not buying Greenland.

2. Even if it did the land within the country is already privately owned (with the exception of gov land of course.) You are insane if you think America is going deport the whole country and redistribute the land to Americans after annexation.
