Too many people want to lump all the protestors in with the worst group of Hamas supporters. Unfortunately we have people on both sides who don’t want a peaceful solution. Just more years of keeping score and revenge. I don’t have any problem with Israel killing actual Hamas people or active collaborators. If that was all that was happening, lots of the protests would die down to the diehard antiwar people which is much smaller group. "Trumpsplain (def.) explaining absolute nonsense said by TRUMP. |

| odiousgambit Member since: Oct 28, 2012 Threads: 165 Posts: 6374 | Many states have experienced an wild turkey population boom after re-introduction, followed by recent decline. This is the sort of thing that puzzles wildlife biologists. In my state the wild pop is in good shape and biologists think not declining. >>> Why is turkey's population decreasing? “The population decline likely began in the late 1980s and it may simply be due to a changing landscape that has less carrying capacity and that this is just nature's way of finding a new normal for the population. However, it is probably a combination of factors. Jan 9, 2024 Researchers looking for insight into wild turkey population ... Iowa Department of Natural Resources (.gov) __ What were some things that caused the population of turkeys to decrease? Renowned turkey biologist and hunter Dr. Mike Chamberlain says there are a variety of factors contributing to turkey population declines. In the East, key issues include habitat loss and degradation, an increase in predators, and, yes, hunting pressure. I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |

| odiousgambit Member since: Oct 28, 2012 Threads: 165 Posts: 6374 | recently spotted a bald faced hornet , saw it fly to her nest which was just starting. The spray I use blew right through the paper and killed the single hornet. Saw another nest not that far away and the same thing. I was catching the nests at the stage where they were the size of a medium tomato ... these would have grown into those large bulbous paper covered nest. Easy to spot coloration, bald faced is derivative of original name of 'piebald' they think. I suspected I was seeing a queen starting the process as a loner. Looked it up and this is verified. The process is not started with a swarm. Face is the one who told me that the bald faced is the worst. >>> The [new queens winter and] the nests, and this cycle, are started new again every year because the young queens are the only ones who survive the winter. The bald-faced hornet starts as an egg, which hatches into larvae. Then the larvae cocoon themselves in a cell of the nest, becoming a pupae. They later emerge as a fully grown adult hornet [I switched this around] __ What is the most aggressive hornet? Baldfaced Hornets They are aggressive and will attack anything (or anyone) that invades their space. They can sting repeatedly and their sting is very painful. Baldfaced hornets build paper-like nests, which are grayish-brown, inverted, pear-shaped, and up to three feet tall with the nest entrance at the bottom. Not sure why I never knew the importance before, but probably due to the difficulty of looking things up you saw in an article back in those days. >>> Why is the Strait of Tiran important? The Straits of Tiran, a stretch of considerable importance that facilitates Israel's access to the Red Sea, lie in close proximity to Tiran island at the entrance to the Gulf of Aqaba, which serves as the only port for land-locked Jordan, making it a crucial access point for the nation's maritime trade activities pronunciation: https://youtu.be/_5uJ2mNSdvw I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |
