If you can wait a few months to buy a used car it would be wise. Used car prices are going to crash shortly. So much inventory is coming in, people are having a hard time with interest rates, dealer lots are loaded with cars and they are having to auction some to reduce debt.

I was passing a sign where it was listing “breakfast” but there wasn’t enough space for the letters so it said,

Break
Fast.

So, breakfast wasn’t a name but a reference to the first meal after a fast I suppose.

Then there’s this:

Quote:
According to the Oxford English Dictionary (OED), the etymology of lunch is uncertain. It may have evolved from lump in a similar way to hunch, a derivative of hump, and bunch, a derivative of bump. Alternatively, it may have evolved from the Spanish lonja, meaning 'slice of ham'.

On occasion I am forced by circumstance to tolerate a person who dominates the conversation. I don't want to dislike him [in most other ways he is OK, can be interesting]. There are no rules of order in ordinary conversation, I sometimes wonder if there should be sort of unwritten ones... basically, you have to interrupt if you have something to say and hope that works with this guy. Not much help in the web, advice often says 'don't interrupt'.

>>>

What to do when someone won't let you get a word in?

At their first pause, point right at their face and say something like “Interesting” or “I never thought of it that way before” then start talking about what you want. If they still override you, turn your back to them and move away [emphasis mine!]
__

How to professionally say you talk too much?

For example, you might say:

"I don't believe you're talking over everyone on purpose, Bob. ...
"I realize you aren't purposely monopolizing our conversations, Darren."
Try to avoid complaints and sweeping generalizations like: "People hate it when you talk too much" or "You never let anyone else speak."
__

How to deal with a compulsive talker

Attempt to redirect the conversation. Without being confrontational, introduce another topic and ask others to share their thoughts.
Intervene. ...
Point out the pattern of interrupting. ...
Talk to the overtalker privately. ...
Leave the room. ...
Orchestrate gatherings.
__

How to politely interrupt someone who talks too much?

So be ready to fight for your airspace. A great way to do this is to politely interrupt them with phrases like: “Absolutely, and guess what else…” or “A quick point on that note...”, or “Before you go on….”

Eugenics was like a religion to many people, not to be doubted, *logically* it made sense to them... yet it was bad science. Sound familiar ?

What did Helen Keller say about disabled children?

Keller had a complicated relationship with disability. Like radicals and conservatives of her time, she fully supported the policies of the eugenic and euthanasia movements, arguing that disabled children's lives should not be sustained.

New cars don't have keys but commonly 'fobs' instead

pretty nice, eh? But guess what will have to be working properly or you can't start the car or get into it if locked. I do think it's pretty cool ... on the other hand the more of this tech stuff gets added the more you're adding problems. OK for the wealthy.

>>>

Why do new cars not have keys?

Unlike traditional key systems, keyless ones allow you to unlock your car automatically and start and stop it at the push of a button, offering drivers increased convenience, safety, and security.
__

The main issue with keyless cars is how susceptible they are to theft. Because the key only needs to be close to the car to open it, thieves are able to tap into the radio signals and fool the car into thinking the key is a lot closer than it actually is.
__

What are the cons of keyless entry?

Power Failure

Since a keyless entry lock is electrical it can stop working, batteries don't last forever, therefore leaving you locked out of your home or not able to lock the door when leaving. They do have a warning system but that lasts only a certain time.
__

What is the problem with keyless ignition?

Ignition Left On

Leaving a car on idle is one of the major concerns associated with keyless ignition. Since there's no key, drivers left the engine idling and took the keyfob with them. It directly impacts the fuel efficiency and overall lifespan of the vehicle.
__

How much does it cost to fix keyless entry?

Keyless entry became a common automotive feature in the 1990s, and nearly every new model today uses a key fob for unlocking doors and starting the ignition. Key fobs can perform many functions, and having that technology means replacing them costs from $150 up to several hundred dollars.
__

What is the lifespan of a keyless entry?

Under normal circumstances, the battery life of the remote key control is generally 2-3 years. It is determined according to the actual number of uses, and there are differences between different models, and it is difficult to determine the specific replacement time.Oct 5, 2023 [yikes!]
