James Polk was a success in business and politics, slave owning aside. Andrew Jackson was a success in business and a resounding success in politics, slave owning aside. George Washington was a profound success in business and in politics, slave owning aside. OTOH, James Buchanan was a success in neither, and neither was Warren Harding.

And besides, if the GOP cared so much about families, there would paid leave for the birth or adoption of a child, paid medical leave for family illness or injury, more affordable childcare and better schools in Red states.
