It could be a nothingburger, but I don’t think so. The usual suspects decided to start rioting in Los Angeles after the World Series game. Stores looted. PUBLIC bus incinerated. General lawlessness. Little done by law enforcement.

I expect the Republicans to seize on this event to remind the populace what happens when the criminals KNOW there will be little or no repercussions for their crimes. If the thugs were actually put away where they belong (prison) for X years then maybe they would think twice before helping themselves to a hundred pairs of Nike’s.

Of course electing a Republican President will not change the local laws and sentencing, but the riots were emblematic of general Democrat rule. It doesn’t take much to remember the BLM riots. People remember Democrat strongholds NOT wanting Federal help. The government acted appropriately in going after the Jan 6 lawbreakers. Because those were FEDERAL crimes.

??????????.
The Capitol of the United States of America was attacked while Trump was President.
Police officers were being attacked while Trump was President
General lawlessness in DC while Trump was President
If Trump wins. I expect full pardons for everyone that attacked the capitol. Republicans will let criminals KNOW their will no longer be repercussions for attacking the USA if you are a Trump supporter.

Compare crime stats from Red states to that of Blue states. Use verified, valid and reliable data.

12 people arrested in LA, crowds dispersed using less-than-lethal munitions, detectives on the case to identify suspects in the vandalism, arson and looting.

Republicans who support the Jan 6 insurrection OR support those politicians responsible for it or support it lose their credibility to yap about violence.

There was no “insurrection” on Jan 6. Just a demonstration aga very suspicious election. If you call Jan 6 an insurrection but fail to call all the blm riots the same you yourself lose all credibility.

Not an insurrection?

A demonstration?

When violence broke out on Jan6, it ceased to be a demonstration. It was a violent attack on the building and occupants of your very seat of government.. Were the 'protesters' baying for the murder of Mike Pence just having a laugh?

insurrection /ĭn″sə-rĕk′shən/
noun
The act or an instance of open revolt against civil authority or a constituted government. Duffman says it wasnt that?

A rising against civil or political authority, or the established government; open and active opposition to the execution of law in a city or state. Duffman says it wasnt that?

A rising in mass to oppose an enemy. Duffman says it wasnt that?

The BLM protests were protests against real police brutality, not against the 'protect and serve' mandated acts of your police authorities, but reaction to their own obscene criminality. Yes. BLM riots got violent and were criminal acts that should have been, and were prosecuted firmly.

Such whataboutism as an excuse for insurrection?

There's really little point or profit arguing with these MAGA folk: their minds (and noses) are open only to the stench emitted by their Fuhrer.

Ignore them til they fade away, just like pimples.

And yet...who doesn't like to squeeze a fat, juicy zit til it pops?

Sort of like Whack-a-mole, but with puss.

Not in NYC.

Democrat City officials dropped the charges against the nearly 1,400 arrested and agreed to pay each of them $10,000 for their troubles.

That NYPD Chief of Department Monahan later got his head bashed in with wooden cane by one of those protesters.

Charges dropped of course.

I will repeat it. If you do not consider the BLM riots an insurrection then you have no moral authority to call Jan 6 one, either. They were far more violent than anything on Jan 6.

Riot, insurrection: different terms, essentially the same thing, i.e. rising up against authority, with violence.

Participants should be treated like rabid dogs, not coddled and pardoned.

Blah blah blah. Commit a crime and there’s a specific range of penalties. There’s no argument.

BLM riots weren't an insurrection by any legal definition of the word.
