So apparently the Pentagon summoned the Vatican Ambassador to the US to the Pentagon to tell the Vatican and the Catholic Church to get on board with the Trump administration's military tactics. Reportedly, one Pentagon official reached for a 14th century weapon and invoked the Avignon Papacy—a period of time when the French monarchy used military force to bend the Bishop of Rome to its wishes. It is further alleged that Pope Leo cancelled a planned trip to the US in response.

I hope the Ambassador told the entire room where they can stick this alleged 14th Century weapon, told them to phuck off and left.
