If I lived in Maine, I would not have cast my vote for him in the primary. I would've voted for Mills. But she dropped out back in April. So our choices are Collins, Plattner, whatever third party insane bozo decides to run or none of the above. And since the GOP has forever lost my vote, or at least until the last MAGA voter or politician ceases their subscription to life, that leaves Plattner, whatever third party insane bozo decides to run or none of the above. And since I have yet to see a third party candidate who isn't an insane bozo in my voting lifetime, that leaves Plattner or none of the above. And since I don't believe whatsoever in none of the above, that leaves Plattner for the win.
I agree with the saying voting is like catching the bus. You’re not waiting for "the one". You’re getting on the bus. And if there isn’t one going exactly to your destination, you don’t stay home and sulk. You take the one that’s going closest to where you want to be.
You'd rather stay home and sulk and insult Muslims, call Democratic areas slums and apply one sided standards to Democrats and call them scumbags. I choose to get on the bus that bring me closest to my destination. And not since Charlie Baker left office as the one and only Republican I have voted for since 1988, has that bus ever been driven by a GOP politician.
Good answer. And it PERFECTLY explains why America elected a man like Trump, despite him being a pussy grabbing, narcissistic, liar, etc…

Fair enough. But would you cast a ballot for a scumbag like Platner?
Were I a republican I would even give a flawed person like Trump a chance if he was promising to reform. Of course, it also depends on what the offenses were. When has he done as much? When????? Reform!! Hah.
Platner hasn't even as much as faced a withdrawn charge against him legally, much less one that has gone to court. He hasn't faced numerous accusations of fraud aside from other accusations.
He's not even close to Trump in numerous accusations.

That’s rich. I don’t recall you standing up for Kavanaugh even though ‘he hadn’t faced even a withdrawn charge legally’. That’s the bar you want to use ? Nazi tattoo. No problem. Abuse of women. It’s ok. Public figure on cheating websites moments after getting married. With his semi clad body visible to all.
I stood by MY convictions and didn’t vote for Trump.
The Dims here clearly haven’t the strength to NOT vote for a scumbag like Platner. The verbal gymnastics you guys are going through to feebly try and justify your support for him is…. expected…

If life goes on, what do you care what scumbag is in office?
While you didn't vote for Donny at any time, you approve of him wholeheartedly. So get off your moral high horse.

For one thing Supreme Court justices need a higher standard than congress. Second, he's a conservative. Why would I go out of my way?
Got a better example?

Would have voted for George Wallace.
Quote:
Yes, George Wallace formally renounced his segregationist views in the late 1970s and 1980s, publicly apologizing for his past stance.Key Details of his ShiftPublic Apologies: Following an assassination attempt in 1972 that left him paralyzed and a subsequent religious awakening, Wallace actively sought reconciliation with civil rights leaders like Jesse Jackson, Ralph Abernathy, and John Lewis. He frequently visited Black churches to ask for forgiveness, admitting his prior support for the separation of schools was wrong.1982 Gubernatorial Campaign: Running for his fourth and final term as governor of Alabama, Wallace explicitly stated, "Segregation is wrong, and I don't want it to come back".Black Voter Support: His pivot earned him significant political rehabilitation; he won approximately 90% of the Black vote in the 1982 election.Policy Action:
During this final term (1983–1987), he appointed a record number of African Americans to state boards, cabinets, and judicial positions.
Show me where Trump reformed that's even half-way believable.[

Senator Byrd
Quote:
Racial Views: In his early political career, he filibustered the 1964 Civil Rights Act and was a "Kleagle" in the KKK during the 1940s. By the early 2000s, he had completely renounced these actions, expressed deep regret, and earned a 100% rating from the NAACP
Some people change.

At least it isn't a George Floyd situation, which in fact became an echo of "Genital Retraction Syndrome" where the crime is so notorious with the public that nothing matters but that someone gets punished ... nothing else matters, certainly not the Truth

In Africa, the belief in "penis snatching" is a well-documented sociopsychological phenomenon. When men claim their genitals have been shrunk or stolen via witchcraft, it often triggers public panic and mob violence. Consequently, authorities actively prosecute both the vigilantes and those who make false, malicious accusations. The Phenomenon: Genital Retraction Syndrome (Koro)
Clinically recognized as Koro or Genital Retraction Syndrome, the condition is a culture-bound psychiatric disorder where individuals experience an overpowering, delusional belief that their sex organs are shrinking or retracting into their bodies.
Authorities will actually arrest and prosecute those accused of the witchcraft so that the public will accept that something is being done, and dispense with vigilante and mob action
