You are aware that more people have gone to prison for plotting to assassinate Obama than Trump, including active duty US Army soldiers? For a man who hates Obama, he did WAY more good for the US than Donny can ever do. |

Honestly it is good politically that Trump stay alive and in office until the end of his term. Vance would have a real shot to win re-election as an incumbent. Trump being in power brings together a lot of people in an "enemy of my enemy," kind of way. I would almost be scared of Trump resigning and Vance taking over, but Trump's ego would never allow this. |

I assume Vance and Rubio will both be campaigning, though I can't imagine campaigning under Trump in the year before while still working for him if things keep going so swimmingly as they are now. By that I mean the soul-sucking whirlpool of death that everyone sees except blind Trumpers. "Trumpsplain (def.) explaining absolute nonsense said by TRUMP. |

Exactly, that is why Trump needs to stay in office (at least through the election.) Vance v. Rubio while working for Trump + whatever other randos end up running (since Trump will be retired politically for good, a lot of people will come out of the woodwork that were afraid to run against him directly.) All while Trump is in power and forced to endorse one of them (awkward for the other.) Honestly the primaries will be more interesting than the general, it will get vicious inside the GOP. A lot of wanna-be Trumps will try to emulate his bullying and go after each other vulgarly. It will be something. But, this will only be as chaotic as it can be (and harmful to the GOP,) if Trump stay in office through the election. That is why I hope he does, it will actually do more long term damage to the GOP, even if it involves some short term pain. Vance winning the nomination and running as an incumbent, would be a politically nightmare scenerio. I would actually bet he would win. |
