Not sure exactly what you mean. If it is a public school based on age, of course there should be NO factoring of race in admissions. So if Black kids were excluded because of their race, then that is by definition racist. As far as public colleges and universities, they have admission standards requiring some academic ability. The ranking for who should get in should not include Race in a way to meet some “% of minorities we want”. If anyone is excluded BECAUSE of their race, well, that of course is racist. I’ll repeat myself. It isn’t hard to find examples of racism directed towards people of color. DEI is not the answer. It’s part of the problem. |

The answer was those kids being escorted by police was actually to combat racism. I don't consider "diversity" racism. First woman picked purposely for being black vice President is not racism. However, the 50th woman picked to for being black to be vice President is no longer diversity and is probably racist. Trump is not a genius; you're just dumb. |

I have yet to see an organized effort by Democrats to remove civil rights and voting rights protections, on the level that the GOP is doing in recent history. Can you plesae point out examples of Democrats going to court to get civil rights or voting rights laws overturned? Kamala was elected county DA, state AG and US Senator by her constituents. Biden selected her as VP-candidate based in no small part on that electoral history, which gives her more experience than JD and at least on par with Pence. When Joe dropped out, federal electoral law states either the VP candidate run instead, or the other replacement candidate would not get the Dem campaign funds. As for Dems being the party of race, you;re damned right. It's the party of racial equality, something the GOP hasn't been for decades. I dare you to tell us here on this open forum, Scott, than blacks and women only succeed in society due to racism and sexism against white males, and not on their own merits. |

I don’t consider requiring true ID to vote discrimination. You do. I never said Kamala was not qualified, whatever that means, to be VP. It wasn’t me who idiotically said he was picking a Black woman; it was Biden. He should have just selected her with no mention of her gender/race. As far as the Democrat party being the party of racial EQUALITY, I disagree. You are for equal results. I’m for equal opportunity. SOME Blacks and women succeed due to the racism that is inherent in DEI policies. I’d say a small %, but not an insignificant %. Most private businesses hire based on need and qualifications, and don’t consider race in their decisions. Those who eventually succeed or fail do so based on their abilities, not their race. What’s so difficult about this. Don’t consider race in hiring decisions. In admissions decisions. In housing decisions. That’s what not being racist is all about. |

Requiring ID to vote is based on the flawed and provably false premise that there is outcome determinative voting fraud in the US. Requiring ID to vote is targeted specifically to make it harder for those who live on the margins-of whatever race- to vote. And, yes, that includes some black folks who, prior to 1965 due to Jim Crow, weren't issued birth certificates. Requiring ID to vote may impact those natural born citizens born in certain Texas counties where those county officials refused to issue birth certificates in 2015 and 2016. Equal opportunity, huh? Do you espouse devoting more early childhood education resources to minority communities for equal opportunity to education? Do you espouse more resources to primary and secondary schools in minority communities to give those school children equal opportunity to get into a good college or skilled trade school of their choice? Do you espouse more crime fighting and crime interdiction and crime prevention resources to minority communities so those residents have equal opportunity to not be victims of crimes, or or you one of these GP/MAGA chumps who claim that the "Biden crime bill" in 1994 caused harm to minorities and that only Trump can fix it? Do you espouse delivering more and targeting healthcare and health promotion initiatives to minority communities, allowing that cohort to have longer and healthier lives? I dare you to tell me how your actions and your votes match your rhetoric. Bet you can't. |

| SOOPOO Member since: Feb 19, 2014 Threads: 25 Posts: 5350 | Sam Douglass is apparently the only elected official identified in these racist group chats. He was a state senator in Vermont. ‘Was’ , because he just resigned. The coward stated he resigned ‘to keep his family safe’. Not because he got caught! Said some gobbledegook about his ‘Jewish and BIPOC’ friends…. Yes, speech is ‘free’, just not free from consequences. At least all the Republican leaders of Vermont called on him to resign. Libbie joke going around is ‘what cabinet position will Trump appoint him to?’ |

Ah, but Herr Trumpf has said and done things worse than that ("grab them by the pussy." Jan. 6 insurrection; tax cheat) but he experiences no consequences other than inconvenience leading him fo fits of maniacal rage and a thirst for retribution. The New American Way? |

Where is the actual Abraham Lincoln republican? I can’t think of more disgusting filthy pornographic idea, than when Trump compares himself to Lincoln. Abe probably jumped out of his grave and shot himself in the head when he heard that. Though the idea that Trump may inspire a civil war doesn’t seem so unlikely. Trump is not a genius; you're just dumb. |

Republicans lose an election. I just hope addled Biden can not do a lot of harm. Democrats lose an election. They think the world is coming to an end. They are literally keeping the government shut down in an effort to overturn the will of the people. They are disrespectful of the majority of Americans who voted FOR what the Republicans want. In the House. In the Senate. The Presidency. Someone made a great point about the filibuster. It’s not that long ago that 48 or so Democrat Senators voted to end it. (No Manchin, Sinema). Let’s see if a Republican decides to try and end the filibuster. You think those 48 Democrats voted to do so? Or they actually only voted that way……. oh, you know the answer…. Can there be elections during a ‘government shutdown’? |

| missedhervee Member since: Apr 23, 2021 Threads: 150 Posts: 5039 | Yeah, the stink is on the democrats, not the republicans. Look, they really fucked the pooch and lost power...it happens...so just suck it up losers until such time, if any, when you regain power, then wield it. For now y'all are consigned to the sidelines per the will of the American people. Use this time to come up with a good plan and not be a bunch of obstructionist assholes. Awww, Trump won/t meet with you and give you what you want...too bad so sad ... you lost. Powerlessness is a consequence of losing. |
