He always said that trainees had to be desensitized because it isn't natural to kill people, and hesitation could be your death. But he never found himself hating the enemy or the country. He has many Vietnamese friends, and he is fond of the culture. He is pictured on the book that he co-authored sitting in the upper left |

Any idea how long it was between Reagan being shot and SNL doing the two-ep parody of Buckwheat being shot and killed? In all fairness, it was brilliant parody of the news style at the time, vastly exaggerated. They repeat the clip of the shooting a lot of times, each time with a sponsor's message. I even remember what it was: "The Shooting of Buckwheat! Brought to you by Texon! Life goes on and Texon is there!" Right after showing it, the anchor informs the audience Buckwheat has died on the OR. So they show the clip of the shooting again with the sponsor's message now being "The Killing of Buckwheat! Brought to you by Texon! Life goes on and Texon is there! because Buckwheat would have wanted it that way." On the next show it's all about the shooter, John David Stutts (both he and Buckwheat, BTW, were played by Eddie Murphy). They interview people who knew him, always ending with the question "Can you believe he killed Buckwheat?" This was answered invariably with a variation of "Oh, sure! He always talked about that!" They show his yearbook photo, captioned "Most Likely to Kill Buckwheat." Then he's shot at the police station (yes, like Oswald back in 63), and we're treated to repeats of the shooting video clip, again with a sponsor's message. This time it's "The Shooting of John David Stutts! Brought to you by Mutual Life. because YOU could die tomorrow!" As you can guess, the shooter also dies and the message now changes to "The Killing of John David Stutts! Brought to you by Mutual Life. because YOU could die tomorrow! Just like John David Stutts." No idea who Buckwheat is? He was the African American kid in the "Our Gang" series of short films (also known as "Little Rascals"). The SNL sketches show him as an adult, though (it would have been sick to stage the shooting of a child, wouldn't it?) Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

There is a scene in the WWI novel "All's Quiet on the Western Front," where Paul, the German protagonist, finds himself waiting out a long bombardment in a shell crater all alone with the corpse of a French or English soldier. It gets intense when he goes through his pockets and finds family photos, letters from his wife, etc. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

The big news that will stop GB in it's tracks is Star Trek and Ice Age open today and that's where the action is. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Speaking of ghostbusters and 1 of the actresses How about that racist editor over at Breibart Milo Yiannopoulous For some reason, he really really hates actresses that are black Twitter had to ban this clown http://nypost.com/2016/07/20/twitter-bans-breitbart-editor-after-racist-abuse-of-ghostbusters-star/ Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World" |

During the action scenes, I could barely tell what was happening. The sets looked cheap. (Maybe they were going for an original series-vibe?) “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |

How was the popcorn?
I haven't cared much for the two "new" Trek films at all. I plan to see the latest one when it's on basic cable. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

I loved them, thought they were the best in the franchise. Chris Pine is a far better Kirk than Shatner ever was. The Trek movies made in the 80's and 90's are so cornball now I can't even see them anymore. All those aging actors are just painful to watch. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

He could have easily ended up as a lead in a soap opera for many years as well. "Trumpsplain (def.) explaining absolute nonsense said by TRUMP. |
