It is a matter of supply and demand. The tens of millions of illegals aren't living on the streets. They don't mind renting apartments in large groups. Some landlords charge by the person. Ten or more men living in an apartment, each paying $500 each per month, is not uncommon. When you build one million fewer homes than you need every year and add another few million illegals, it tends to create a tight market.

If you are a renter, you are going to be in trouble. If you are a retired renter, you are screwed.

The economy won't be an issue in November. Since government spending is a component of GDP, the $1 trillion in spending they approved this week should artificially turn what was going to be a negative third quarter GDP, into a positive one.

The Fed will do its part with overnight reverse repos, like they did yesterday, to jack up the stock market.

Voters don't know any better. The administration and the media will say 'See, the economy is growing. The stock market is booming. There is no recession".

When the voters get the bill in the form of higher inflation a few months later, it will be too late.
