Lying? Nope. More of making a bombastic opening idea. It is a secret to good negotiating. You make such an opening then get a better deal later. Kind of like Iran pulled on Obama. How would Trump not allow businesses free choice on China? If you are so pro-business, are you against Obama denying them free choice in what they pay their employees and what benefits they can offer? How about free choice as to who they do business with? 45% tariff is a bombastic idea to destroy the worlds economy That is a absurd negotiating tactic. A 45% tariff would not allow businesses free choice in China due a retaliatory tariff. Its just dumb. How would it destroy the world's economy? Other nations are there to trade with. Are you against carbon taxes? Because they would also destroy the economy and take away all choice, not just China.
Not really, it is a smart tactic. Iran got what they wanted out of Obama by starting with bombastic demands.

It's an age old and time honored tactic. If an auctioneer wants $250 for an item, he'll first try and get $500. He plants it in peoples minds that $500 is it's true value. Then when it sells for the $250 he really wants, they think they got a good deal. That's all Trump is doing. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Anyone remember the joke about being stuck in front of an Audi and behind a Pinto? Audi 5000 I think. Pinto, well, not sure how many models if any, there were. The foster family must have had some respect as the whole street was supporting them. Other sources said her natural parents were real dirt bags.
