It looks to me like the cause could be low testosterone levels.

Ummmm….. if there were any ‘regulations’ made via an executive order that were responsible for this mess Biden/Buttigieg had TWO YEARS to make a contravening order! Nice try, but FAIL!

So you admit Trump changes to regulations totally sucked and put lives in danger

Not really. I frankly have no idea what ‘regulation’ was changed that would increase the likelihood of a toxic train wreck. Do you?

Accidents happen. This one happened under Biden/Buttigieg. What is their first (EASILY PREDICTABLE) response….. must be Trump’s fault.

Answer me this Ed, how many more years of ‘bad regulations’ will Biden be able to blame on Trump?

As a matter of principle it’s exactly what most republicans do sooner or later. “FREE UP THE ECONOMIC ENGINE”. Then that freed economic engine derails while pursuing profit over safety. SOP

Not only are Republicans more likely to dismiss regulations as unnecessary, but they also seem likely not to have actually studied the situation, so it's based on something other than "more money".

The brakes and the emergency braking system worked pretty well. The cause was an overheated wheel bearing. Perhaps too much load. The train was 150 cars long. Certainly too much of the toxic carcinogenic gas that is also a flammable and potentially explosive, for a single train to be carrying. Eleven cars carrying vinyl chloride derailed.

The Secretary of Transportation finally visited the town for a photo op, today. Three weeks after the event. It took him ten days to even Tweet about it.

He shouldn't have even visited
Of course the visit is a photo op
Not much different from Trumps visit
ALL politicians visiting a disaster area are photo ops
Shouldn't have even tweeted
Why Tweet about anything. Twitter is just meaningless rubbish
What matters is the result of the investigation.

Everybody knows overall Dems legislate towards more cautious safety regulations and Republicans legislate towards loosening safety regulations

Paper has age on it.

There's a more recent paper using software in an artificial neural network and another using acoustics.

Train wheel hot bearing is the primary cause of cutting-axle fracture and severe hotbox accidents, which poses a great threat to the safety of railway transmission.

I agree with what you are suggesting, that these are obvious things to be changed forevermore

and Terrapin Ed, I agree that it is silly to pay attention to photo op visits. On the other hand, Butt-Judge should know people do
