Remember that guy who was most likely poisoned (radioactive) by Putin? One of his accusations against Putin was this:

Wouldn't surprise me if he is child molester. Putin overdoes the "I'm manly, studly" bit. World leaders don't really need to engage in flagrant demonstrations of machismo.

Kinda a bizarre situation in Germany for a few hours -

Power prices went negative, so coal and nuclear plants were paying to put power on the grid, while factories were being paid to consume it.

The "Kickstarter" funds for a 3D printer development company were embezzled by the would-be developer who used 300 grand to build a house rather than develop the revolutionary product he had described.

End of trust in fund raising??

That headline, "Germany had so much renewable energy on Sunday that it had to pay people to use electricity", is an excellent test for how much Environmentalist Kool-Aid a person has drunk,

*if your first reaction is "wow, that is so great!" you have guzzled a whole bunch

*if your reaction is " good news, but obviously that can't last" you have sipped a bit but have your feet on the ground

*if your reaction is "this is obvious insanity and will ultimately backfire" and "I am so sick and tired of hearing how wonderful things are in Europe, who's lousy economy is dragging down the entire world" then you probably have avoided the stuff. You are still allowed to be for a sensible approach to renewable energy and be in this category.

I have argued though, the less dependent you are on outside sources the more actual freedom you obtain, for the anti--government people who think "green" is just for a money grab.

Green is a money grab. Look at the people against fracking. Look at who was against Keystone. Both meant more energy freedom. Greens wer against both

My freedom argument is actually freeing the consumer as much as possible from third parties, ANY THIRD PARTY.

Both solar and electric are the only real choices individual consumers have a chance to do that. Nuclear may be cheap overall, but there is no way you can keep it out of third party hands. It's too complex. Coal and oil, aren't options either.

We may be able to utilize uses for wind and water energy more individually as well. (someday)

Our major industry energy company in Florida has been fighting the freedom of people to install solar energy in Florida because they obviously want to keep their fingers in the money pie.

Quote:
Florida is one of only five states that ban consumers from buying electricity directly from an entity other than a utility. That means homes and businesses in Florida can't install their own small-scale solar facilities and sell the energy to neighbors.

The people who frack, will make enough money to be the ones who engage in earthquake remediation and water remediation.

Fracking does not cause issues to groundwater nor does it cause huge earthquakes. Many people who are against it are dupes of OPEC. We have been fracking for 50+ years.
