Finally got round to watching some of the 18 animated episodes of the series released in March.

Heavy Metal comic magazine has been around since 1977, so this series is more or less the visual equivalent of Heavy Metal crossed with Tales of the Crypt (as a comic since 1950, as an HBO series since 1989).

The animation varies from comic to photo-realistic

ESPN 30 FOR 30
Watched Dennis Rodman doc last nite. 2 hours
It was fascinating.
He was weird but have to admit I was a big fan back in the day.
Really the only player I ever saw that could really play great D on Shaq

Was a huge Rodman fan back in the day; was really the only part of basketball I knew or liked. I suppose it's why I get more angsty then most when making a big deal of gay players. Like, did we forget already this mo'fo setting records year after year in eye shadow, rouge and a gd halter top? Led the league in rebounds 7 years in a row, champion 5 times, NBA Defensive Player of the Year twice, all while bangin' half of Madonna's dance troupe lol.

I'm not and never was a basketball player, but insofar as I was, he was my muse. Love me some Worm.

Stranger Things (3 seasons) on Netflix is really good, if you are into retro-80s styled scifi movies.

The only way I can watch these
is with the sound turned down
and then the acting seems
really cheesy and I only see
half of it because I'm reading
the rest of the time.

The assistant/best friend is the really cute one in Marianne.

The French have a special affinity for the "second girl" in their films.
"The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak" (1984 French film based on novel from the 1930s). Beth is the nerdy assistant with the big eyes.

The acting in dubbed films always
seems god awful because so much
of acting is the voice. Probably 80%
of it. And you only get that if they
speak in a language you understand.

I think most people agree with that. TV shows are almost always dubbed, but most feature films shown now (for adults) are no longer dubbed , but have captions. Sometimes in Mexico a film that was marginal (appeals to both older children and adults) would show in one theater dubbed, and in another with captions.

Sometimes in Marianne the caption would literally flash on and off so fast that you had no chance of reading it. At times it seemed like the dialogue was important.

Prime has got a new animated series
that's just spooky. The tech is called
Rotoscope:

It's hard to watch, I hope this isn't the
future.
