200,000 men is an army. Properly equipped, trained and motivated, they could challenge ISIS.

Oh, Detroit is not that bad. I haven't been there since 1989, but if it were as bad as you say, we would bring in the military to restore order. I'd hazard to say that the crime statistics for Detroit are not significantly different from other midwestern cities of comparable population.

I've had that discussion about Harrisburg, the capitol of Pennsylvania. On paper it looks like a criminal nightmare with a peak of 16 murders in 2009, a very high rate for a city of 50K people in about 5K acres of land. But many people point out that it is an incredibly lively city for such a small town, bolstered by thousands of young people working for the state government. You simply know that some neighborhoods are full of crack dens, but they feel there is not reason not to live in the city.

In 2014, there were 298 murders in Detroit, down from 316 murders in 2013, but a Michigan Metropolitan Information Center study has routinely shown crime in Downtown Detroit (CBD) is much lower than national, state and metro averages.

But still those statistics give you pause

Detroit is a very large city geographically. Parts are going to be not that bad, parts are clearly a no-man's land.

Flint is the worst, mostly black. It's the
only city I've been in where house after
house on street after street, had bars
on every window and door, even the
small basement windows. Burglary is
a way of life there. Lansing is a college
town and the capital, that stat suprised
