How many animals kill for sport? Animals are much more moral than people.

Take a dog for instance.

If animals did kill for sport there would be no one to question them about it.

One animal kills for fun, a domestic cat. Their owners usually blame it on the birds.

It most assuredly does not.

It explains more than ridiculous religious
fairy tales about virgin births and walking
on water and rising from the dead. At least
evolution has a sound basis in reality, nobody
ever accused Xtionity of that..

"The great psychologist Sigmund Freud (1856-1939) called Christianity a “fairy tale.” The phrase derived in the 1700s from the French conte de fées (“ story about fairies”) and has now become shorthand for a story that is both false and silly."

False and silly, that about covers it..

They actually kill from instinct, they
need the nutrient that's in the mouses
brain. If they're well fed, they'll kill
but not eat it.

Their kill rate on song birds is cataclysmic for the little singers.

It's all about instinct and movement
with cats. They're attracted to things
that move, and millions of years of
kill instinct. I've had lots of cats for
decades, 12 at a time mostly.

Well, I'm glad you realize that your previous statement that evolution explains everything was an incorrect exaggeration. I've come to realize that when you get so offensive and immediately go for some insult it translates to you realizing you were wrong but not able to admit it.

Secondly, virgin births, walking on water, and Jesus rising from the dead explains deeper truths than you realize. It tells us that there is more to life than we see or realize, something you and I implicitly know. You reminds us that humanity is extraordinary, unique, and special and that we live forever. I know you agree with that, except your beliefs have you randomly coming back over and over again as any variety of things or people. I would say that your belief system is completely against evolution and it explains nothing about just starting over and over again. Evolution actually fits in my ridiculous religious views of progress and spiritual growth that is geared toward something.

These fairy stories were there for
one reason, to impress the
superstitious illiterate uneducated
rubes 2000 years ago. It's a
typical case of over selling the
product. Make ridiculous overstated
unsubstantiated claims and at least
some of the rabble will follow you.

Superstition ruled in Jesus time, the
Roman gods were still whole heartedly
believed in. What was one more silly
over embellished story, there were
already so many. There are no 'deeper
truths' in the Jesus fantasy, unless you
pretend there are. But we can do that
with anything, can't we.

Bob, sometimes I think your entire argument against Christianity amounts to: ancient people were stupid. Please tell me there is more because the truth is that modern people who think ancient people were just bumbling idiots are actually the ones who aren't very smart. Read a history of that time or go and visit the Pantheon, the Colosseum, the Aqueducts, read some ancient philosophers and scientists. After you have done that then come here and apologize to the giants whose shoulders you stand on and try to come up with a better argument against the Abrahamic religions.

By the way are you going to answer any of the other questions about your comments concerning evolution.

Do you think there has ever been a time when rape or the killing of innocents was a morally good thing to do in the evolution of morality?

How do you reconcile a view of a cyclical and eternal universe and random reincarnation with evolution's clear movement in time towards a direction of survival or natural selection?

They weren't any more smart or stupid
then they are now. The world is still
chock full of lazy bumblers that are
perfectly willing to swallow a popular
religion than work out the truth for
themselves. Most Xtions I talk to have
a cursory shallow understanding of
their own religion, it's pathetic. They
know the talking points, they know the
main theme, that's it.

When I was young and in the Xtion group,
they were all brought up Xtion and none
of them questioned any of it. Ever. If you
brought up things like, how the heck was
Jesus born to a woman that never had sex,
or how did he turn water into wine, they
looked at you like you had a screw loose.
They just accepted all the claptrap without
a single doubt, and they don't want you
doubting it either. It's the cult mentality,
of course, and it was my first taste of it.
Scary is what it was.
