How does a god know he/she is all there is?

I wouldn't put lying on that list. It happens at all levels of society and is an accepted norm and rarely punished or condemned from a religious point of view.

The punishments for lying are legally codified now, not morally.

Let's see:

The Christian god gives voice to prejudices and infuses them with supreme authority. He claims to be able to do everything. When it comes to actually getting him to do something for you, 9 times out of ten you get nothing. And the time you get something, it looks as though this deity is taking credit for what other people did. This deity is also thin-skinned, to the point that speech of certain kinds becomes an unforgivable crime. And lastly, this god is completely ignorant of the workings of the universe.

So the Christian god is like Donald Trump.

Except Trump actually gets things done,
god does nothing except give us moral
suggestions. Supposedly.

No, morality is an evolving thing, it
constantly changes as society changes.
The big ones, killing, stealing, lying,
never change. But the rest do. Morality
is fluid, never written in stone.

The big ones are the ones I am talking about. The 10 commandments never change but how we apply them in our cultures and in our time does change in our ethics, sometimes for the better, sometimes not.

Even if that's your deepest prayer, he

So you admit what Jesus supposedly
said about praying and getting what
you want is just made up hokum to
sell the new religion to the rubes.

No Jesus will always answer your deepest prayers, what we all really want. And yes He decides what is best for you because He actually knows. How many times have you pursued something thinking this is what will really make me happy only to be disappointed. We often don't know what is best for us, but God does.

You just contradicted yourself! We get
what we pray for as long as Jesus thinks
it's best? That is NOT getting what you
want deep down. Because yes, deep
down many people really do want to
be rich more than anything in the world.
So it's useless to pray unless it's for
something on Jesus very limited list
of things he may or may not give you.

Too bad Jesus left that little caveat out
of what he supposedly said in the NT.

Sometimes you have to get rich to
understand it's not all there is. Do
you realize how many people go
to their deathbeds thinking 'If
only I'd been rich?" Yes, you
can tell them a million times
it's not what they really need or
want, it will have no impact on
them whatsoever.

You stand on the moral high
ground, not willing to give people
the opportunity to work thru the
needed process to get where you
are. That's what's wrong with
organized religion of your type.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

I would think one of those things that truly crushes our soul are riches.

That's easy to say, when you know you'll never go hungry, will always have medical care available, and you don't go to bed every night hoping your children will all still be alive come morning.
