I was being sarcastic but in response to Terapined's comment.
I am Spanish, Hungarian, Arab, and French/German border region. It doesn't matter if anyone is OK with it, since it is merely a statement of fact. I like Spanish tortilla, Chicken paprikash, and Grape leaves since those are the foods I grew up with. I didn't grow up with French food since my great grandfather died in 1972, and no one maintained the French culture. |

Evenbob Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 146 Posts: 25013 | I'm German/Irish/English. My dad even married a woman, my mother, that had the same German last name as he did. No relation, we hope. Imagine what I've gone thru all my life when asked for my moms maiden name. "No, SIR, your mothers name BEFORE she married your dad'" I repeat it. "SIR, you don't understand." Me: "What can I say, we have a very close family." If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

The Spanish tradition is to use your mother's maiden name as your middle name, resulting in this very funny 1950's TV scene with a contestant from San Antonio. Ramiro G Gonzales Ramiro was about age 26 in this segment, and he was functionally illiterate having dropped out of school at the age 7 to perform with his family. John Wayne saw this TV segment and hired Ramiro to do bits in his movies 1959 Rio Bravo 1958 The Sheepman 1956 Man in the Vault 1956 Gun the Man Down 1956 The Bottom of the Bottle 1955 I Died a Thousand Times 1955 Bengazi 1955 Strange Lady in Town 1954 Ricochet Romance 1954 Ring of Fear 1954 The High and the Mighty 1953 Wings of the Hawk His grandson is a TV and movie actor today |

I can't imagine what daily life has been like the last few years in that area. The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW |

She's such an unlikable witch that I find her not in the least bit attractive. Mean and nasty women are never attractive. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
