Can't say I recognized the actor's name, but I will take on anybody in L&S trivia. It was one of my favorite TV shows of the late 70's/early 80's. I went to a taping of the episode where they move to LA.

Some useless trivia.

The actors invented the Lenny and Squiggy act in college. They went to what is now Carnegie Mellon University. Said university has the unusual distinction of being one of the best computer science schools in the world but also has a drama program that has produced:

Ted Danson
Judith Light
Lenny & Squiggy

Meanwhile the school produced the Lycos search engine (for those of you who remember the mid 1990s) and most famous the ":-)"

Laverne and Shirley was a funny
show, unlike Happy Days. I
found it offensive that a short
and skinny guy in a leather
jacket was the 'tough guy'.
I was a kid in the late 50's
and the tough guys were
always big and beefy and
dumb. They kicked little
guys like 5' 5" Henry Winkler
down the street like they
were playing kick the can.

Later on, in the late 60's,
I worked with one the
50's tough guys in a
factory. He was early 30's
and STILL a major jackass.
DA haircut, kept his pack
of Luckies in the rolled
up short sleeve of his work
shirt. And still picked on
those weaker than him
like he was still in HS. He
was a huge guy, 6' 3",
big arms, 220. That crap
about just stand up to a
bully and he'll back off is
just that. Crap. This guy
would tear your head off,
we were terrified of him.

Arnold Spielberg, computer pioneer, passed
away in Aug at 103. He fought in WWII,
his parents were Jewish immigrants from
Ukraine. They lost at least 20 family members
in the Holocaust.

Spielberg worked for RCA and GE in the
50's and 60's. He was instrumental in
developing the GE-200 series of computers,
and many other innovations leading
up to that.

And, as a side note, his son Steven has a
net worth of 3.2 billion and is currently
working on his next movie, West Side
Story. There's even another Jurassic Park
movie in the works, and Indiana Jones
and Gremlins.

Didn’t mention it at the Time, but before the year ends. Jerry Jeff Walker died on October 23. If you know him at all it’s probably because he wrote the iconic song, Mr. Bojangles, made popular by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. But Jerry Jeff was so much more than that. In the 70s a style of music emerged in Texas that some called Cosmic Cowboy or Outlaw Country. We just called it Texas music. It had a sort of roots authenticity that Nashville and the big national acts lacked. Jerry Jeff was not well known nationally. However at that time at that place, he was a towering figure.

Eddie Van Halen, 65

Throat cancer

Okay, I got a, "Too soon," on this one when it happened, so maybe it's not too soon anymore.

At Eddie Van Halen's funeral, David Lee Roth was asked to come in and deliver the eulogy. After Lee Roth left the podium, Sammy Hagar stepped in and delivered a better one.

Dawn Wells 82. She played Mary Ann on Gilligan’s Island. I think that only leaves Tina Louise.
