Statement from Michigan Republican Party chairman Laura Cox:

“The people of Michigan deserve to know what happened in Wayne County on Election Day and the days following. I am proud that, due to the efforts of the Michigan Republican Party, the Republican National Committee and the Trump Campaign, enough evidence of irregularities and potential voter fraud was uncovered resulting in the Wayne County Board of Canvassers refusing to certify their election results. This action will allow more time for us to get to the bottom of these deeply troubling irregularities."

*yawn*

It will change nothing. Pres-Elect Biden easily won MI.

Just shows how desperate the Trumpsters are to overturn the voice of the people

Keep those hopes up!

BREAKING: The Wayne County Board of Canvassers has just unanimously voted to certify the results of the election & called on Michigan SOS Jocelyn Benson to conduct an audit of the unexplained precincts in Wayne County that did not match.

Yeah, as quick as that, it's over.

Whatever they do, they need to check their procedures. Because of the count mismatches, the ballots from those precincts would be ineligible for recount.

Not hardly.

"After hours of angry responses from Wayne County residents, the change in course was approved by the two Republican and two Democratic canvassers with the demand that the Secretary of State’s office conduct a “comprehensive audit” of “unexplained precincts.”

The two White Republicans made a deal.
They approve only if an audit was done
in the questionable precincts. If the
audit isn't done the party can sue all the
way to SCOTUS to get it done.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

....why specify that they’re white?!

Yikes.

Most of the unbalanced Wayne County precincts reported to the board Tuesday were off by three or four votes. The largest discrepancy of unbalanced votes was in Livonia, where 27 more ballots were counted than what was on record in a precinct.

The objection the Republicans had was because of these "unbalanced votes"

One motion by one of the two republicans on the board was to certify all of the precincts in Wayne County, except Detroit. Note the largest discrepancy was in Livonia, and they were fine with that.

They can also "demand an audit" all they want. While I think there should be one, their demand isn't binding on anyone, nor can their certification be conditioned upon one happening.

I dug through a lot of articles, and didn't see one which said the two republicans were white.

There were a few reactions to their votes which called it racially motivated, though. But even those didn't mention the race of the republicans.

I think it was a politically motivated stunt.

(I visit Livonia a couple times a year. It is a mostly white suburb.)

Cant imagine why they weren’t upset about the vote discrepancy there.

The republicans are trying a "throw the baby out with the bathwater" strategy to try to steal the election.
They are suggesting that since there MIGHT be some problems in some areas, ALL of the votes from those areas should be discarded!

How’s old Rudy going! What a total embarrassment. And to think some were lauding this guy as a legal genius based off some accomplishments 30 years ago. He’s the legal equivalent of a dementia patient trying desperately to function in an arena where he was above average decades ago. If it wasn’t so hilarious you might feel sorry for him.
