An additional $300 billion in inflationary government spending, on top of the $4 trillion he already added in less than two years.

I certainly don’t care about govt spending or the deficit, and I suspect the average voter doesn’t either.

After Donny’s spending spree presidency, no party can say with an honest face that they care.

There never was a spending spree. If Trump was on a spending spree, it would have resulted in massive inflation. Inflation averaged less than 2% during his presidency.

Trump didn't add a dime to the deficit. Congress alone decides how much money is spent, and they didn't pass a single spending cut requested by Trump.

Despite the predictions of the 'frequently spectacularly wrong' CBO, tax revenues hit new records every year. This year, they are expected to exceed $4 trillion, if government estimates can be trusted.

Mandatory and Discretionary spending growth remained flat between 2017 and 2019.

The pandemic response increased mandatory spending 70%, while discretionary spending increased 23%.

The government has not released the figures for total mandatory and discretionary spending for 2022. Only estimates.

In Trillions:

2016 mandatory 2.4, disc 1.2, revs 3.3
2017 mand. 2.5 trillion, disc. 1.2, rev 3.3
2018 man 2.5, disc 1.3, rev 3.3
2019 man 2.7 dis 1.3 rev 3.5
2020 man 4.6, disc 1.6 rev 3.4
2021 not published. not likely to be published. Only govt estimates.

They should. Even though it's too late.

At least they're getting what they vote for.

According to federal census data and Fed data, two-thirds of Americans are dipping into their savings to cope with inflation. Household debt is now $16 trillion. Four in ten find it ‘difficult or ‘somewhat difficult’ to pay normal household expenses. That is higher than the pandemic peak in 2020. 90 million households losing ground to inflation. Up 50% from a year ago. 46% of families in Dallas report they are ‘struggling’. It was 28% a year ago. One in eight NY residents is behind on paying their utility bills. Average arrears are double what they were in 2020. Food inflation is12.1%. The highest rate since 1979.

Nationally, more than one in three households cut expenses on, or just did not buy, basic necessities such as food or medicine so they could pay utility bills.

'50% of employers expect job cuts, survey finds.'

Yesterday:

'U.S. economy slows again, S&P finds, due to high inflation and rising interest rates'

'The rate of contraction also outpaced anything recorded outside of the initial pandemic outbreak since the series began nearly 13- years ago.'

So you are pretty much admitting that Biden kicked Trumps ass in the General election.
If so
Aren't you getting sick of the Trump whining.
How come no posts on Oz or Walker. I'd like an in depth Tanko post on how Oz or Walker represent what Trump voters want. You get what you vote for, in this case a couple losers handing the Senate to the Dems.
Yup Tanko
You get what you vote for.
It's a 2 way street baby :-)

Jim Jordan got some of feedback when he said people should pay back their debt. "Period!"

No presidential campaign from any election cycle owes creditors more money than former GOP House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Didn't see any numbers for Gingrich.

Trump's whole life has revolved around not paying debts.

Canceling debt is not my favorite program that the Biden administration has come up with. Even if it's the best thing to be doing, it's a hard sell just from appearances. But when guys like Jim Jordon step out and step in doo doo, 'cause they forget the guy they been supporting has the same big skeleton in his closet, one can't ignore such an easy target.

Hmm
Aren't politicians supposed to pass legislation the people want and therefore get reelected
