So a taxi driver who had immigrant parents in 1989 had opinions about two countries that did not exist yet (Russia was still the Soviet Union and Ukraine was still the Soviet Union)? Though this logic is as sound as thinking the 2020 election was stolen by Twitter and CNN.... |

For example, he says Russia and Ukraine are corrupt (true) but then compares them to the USA, implying we aren't as corruptl. Baloney: we'e rolling in the slime and the muck; why earlier this year we even had a bunch of wild-eyed Trumpies wanting to lynch the VP , kill Palosi, and overthrow the government. Now THAT'S CORRUPTION, and it can be found plotting, scheming, and chowing down on burgers and fries in Mar-a-Lago. |

CNN will always be there it's not going anywhere. What will change is the format. Their business model will no longer be lying and deceiving and extreme bias. Scott Adams would have made a great taxi driver, I've never seen a guy with so many diverse interests. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Russians who immigrated here in the 1930s still called themselves Russians because that's where they were born in Russia before the Revolution. I mentioned Ukraine he never mentioned Ukraine. You really do not know how to read very well do you. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Even if Ukraine was the "most corrupt" country in the world (its not by a long shot, and I am not saying that you are saying that, but for argument's sake let's agree with those that are saying that), does that give license to a geographical neighbor to annex it? After all Russia is only slightly less corrupt than Ukraine (by their logic, again not in reality), so would that really lead to tangible global improvement? Is "corruption" (presumably financial based) more of a threat to global stability than other forms of extremism in a state (say religious, race-based, or nationalistic)? (All of which, almost without dispute, lead to more direct violence). We had many corruption attempts (and more than attempts in some cases) in America (and no doubt will have many more) -the 2020 election was not one of them [other than perhaps the pressure from Republicans on other Republicans to "find votes" and the 06JAN insurrection attempt that you mentioned] - But, we shame the people when caught, and we generally prosecute them. Nobody in America celebrates corruption (or if they do, they are very careful about it). I am not saying we are a country that is adverse to corruption (in some ways our system encourages, by election financing if nothing else), but we (as a society) generally do a good job holding people to account. |

I read it very well, your point was that somebody's opinion of the corruption in a period before the country's existed could be extrapolated to today. If this was not your point, it should not have been posted in this thread. And, if this was your point, it was a bad point. |

Big difference. Trump has done everything he can to block or delay investigations of him, his family, and company. Biden's done relatively nothing to block or delay investigation into his son and any illegal goings on. You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really? |

C'mon, Biden is dirty; who in their right mind would pay his idiot, drug-addled son fifty grand a month to do nothing? Not that Trump is any better. We should have elected a Libertarian, then we wouldn't be in this mess. |

C'mon, plenty of companies would hire a President's son and pay him a high salary without the actual guarantee of a quid pro quo. Hell, just having a company with a President's son on the board is going influence other companies doing business with you in a positive way. It's human nature that many people go out of their way when they think they can get some influence in their favor. You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really? |
