Let me acknowledge that I lean towards the pro-choice side, within limits, and am not a constitutional expert.

That said, I never did see where the Constitution provides the right to abortion. In other words, what is the legal argument the Constitution guarantees a right to abortion above state law?

You need to stop asking these hard questions.
I am not even sure as a man you have a right to be part of the conversation, you should probably just shut up about it.
It's Stare Decisis, obviously, that is the legal argument, if you must know.
It's settled law, that's it, end of story.

This decision could go down in history as worse than Brown v. Board of Education in its irreverence to precedent.
Just like Plessy vs. Ferguson, Roe v. Wade should never be overturned.
We all know how badly the Brown v. Board of Education decision was for this country.
The SCOTUS never gets it wrong and a new Court should never question the decisions of previous Courts.

I am just gobsmacked. This is a chilling attack on freedom.
I am stunned, I thought the Right was all about personal freedoms????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Telling how the GOP is now rooting for limiting personal freedoms????????????????????????????

I will be part of any conversation I wish. Furthermore, you seem to have no compunction in the rest of your post in spouting your opinion about it.

I don't believe a state can make someone support another person with their body organs even if it's the only possible way for them to survive. Just as state couldn't force a woman to breast feed her baby because that's forcing her to use her organs.

The state can force us to support dependent people in other ways, but not through forcing bodies to give fluid or circulate life giving nourishment from their body.

I don't think a state can force a father to give a blood transfusion to his own child if he doesn't want to. By that, I mean his own blood.

The state doesn't have that right.

So, abortion is possible, as when fetus is removed at a early enough time, it will not survive.

See, I think that's the question.

Can the state force a parent to submit to a medical procedure to save his own child. Let's say, take out the parent's kidney?? I don't think it can.

If Florida passes its anti-abortion law, the nearest state is N. Carolina. That's about 1000 miles if you live in S. Florida. Of course you probably have limited amount of facilities there, so no telling if you could make the legal window anyway before it becomes illegal.

Remember how before brick and mortar casinos were built in Florida people who wanted to gamble had to board a casino boat / ship and cruise to international waters to gamble?

I suspect at least one "Love Boat" will appear to take women from Miami or another Florida port out to international waters where an abortion can be legally performed, then return to shore sans unwanted impediment.

Give the people what they want: bread, circuses, and abortions.

One other thing: if as conservatives maintain "abortion is murder," how can they logically allow some states to murder unborn citizens yet prohibit others from doing so?

No state currently allows murder to go unpunished.

I am not saying abortion is murder: but they do.

Has Donny issued a statement cheering this decision on yet? This is, after all, pretty much the only part of his “legacy” righties are willing to talk about these days…

I think you are missing the satire of his post. Or maybe call it him demonstrating absurdity by being absurd.

If women forced to carry to term want to anonymously leave their newborns at pro-life legislators doorsteps, so be it.

Highly, highly unlikely. Cost and logistics, simply is not going to happen.
