They're way behind enforcing original Barbie values of the 1950s. Barbie has been progressive for a long time now. She's moved into everything since feminism became a thing. I think she's actually more a mix of original Barbie and modernized Barbie. Just the trailer scene of high heel foot shows they've embraced elements of the original Barbie. Also kids today don't freakin' care if the original movie of Snow White doesn't have the same characters. They enjoy the movie or they don't. You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really? |

I think because the standard-type reviewers are tiptoeing through a minefield the way I remember it, the Barbie doll started out as a doll alternative to baby dolls - not the first of such, but the modern one of the time. So if a girl wanted to fantasize about her future life as an older teenager/young woman, she could play with this doll. Later, Mattel came out with dolls to emphasize careers ... doctor, CEO, astronaut etc Why would anyone make a movie about this? Well, I could see Mattel making one to sell dolls. But otherwise, why? I think we have to wait for the Critical Drinker to make a review [the youtube guy] I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |

Conservatives targeting "woke" both seriously and with jokes, but there's also a gold mine of parody of the anti-woke hysteria by conservatives. You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really? |
