Is the U.S. military trying to take away our money and freedom? You should read this article, AZ.

The Pentagon has plans for what to do if Canada or the Brits go to war with us. That does not make it likely, just means they can pay to have people think of every possibility. The reality is there is no way to quantify "more severe weather events." There is no reason to believe a change in temp would make it happen. There is no reason to believe warmer is less stable than colder.

And yes, our military is happy to take our money and freedom. "Military-Industrial Complex" is what it is called.

No, it is not. The difference is I think for myself and don't just listen to the pigs because they are the supposedly the smartest animals in the farm. I have given my reasoning here many times, the reply is always, "SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO THE SCIENTISTS!"

If you follow the money you're just as likely to end up on either side of this. If not, why not?

Publicly, Exxon's official position is that global warming doesn't exist. However, behind the scenes, Exxon has invested million$ in scientific research to study how the melting ice caps will help or hinder their Arctic drilling operations. The good news for Exxon is that less ice allows for longer construction and shipping seasons.

Quote: Los Angeles Times
For instance, in Alaska’s Chukchi Sea, west of the Beaufort, the [ice-free] season has been extended by 79 days since 1979, Serreze said.

An extended open water season, Croasdale said in 1992, could potentially reduce Exxon's exploratory drilling and construction costs by 30% to 50%.

On the other hand, Exxon's scientists found that climate change will lead to higher ocean waves, which affects Exxon's off-shore rigs.

Global warming is a mixed bag. Winners & losers...

You have an 's' in there you don't need Reno, the Antarctic ice cap has been adding ice for 5 years and is now the largest it has ever been since satellite records. Do your research.

Inconvenient Truths: 2014 Global Natural Disasters Down Massively! …No Trend In Tornado/Cyclones Since 1950!

We were supposed to have "more extreme" weather by now, seems it has not happened. For those who say it has not been long enough yer, "Earth in the Balance" was published 23 years ago, and yet we still have no noticeable change in climate. That is almost a generation, folks.

90% fewer deaths last year from natural
disasters than normal. Hurricanes and
tornado's at record lows. I guess this
is climate change, but in the opposite
direction of what they said it would be.

How do we get it back to normal, build
more coal fueled power plants? lol

I think you mean build fewer. Seriously, I always say both "warmer is better" and "how do we know that we are at the 'right' temperature?" Height of arrogance to think we can control the climate.

No. If it's not now normal, and we seem
to always want normal, to get back to
more bad storms we have to build more.

I'm being facetious. The sun is obviously
behind all of it, nothing we can do about
that. Our problem is, we kept no weather
records at all till about 150 years ago,
and not good ones until well into the
20th century. We have no historical data
to go on.

Wish more people understood this. I feel like I am the only person pointing it out.

Like the article said, we only have maybe
20 years of real tornado data, since Doppler
radar was introduced. We know there are
far fewer killer tornado's since 1950 because
of reported deaths.

Between 1875 and 1940, there were 5 times
more deaths from tornado's per year than
now. It's even worse than that when you
consider there was less than half as many
people here at that time. In the Wizard
of Oz, them running to the tornado shelter
was no joke, it's was part of life if you lived
on the plains.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.
