It might be freedom, but does not change the fact that such a person is likely an idiot. Of course, most people in this country are idiots.

Or
It could be somebody very busy with life such as a mother with kids
Some people are so busy with real life, BS politics is meaningless
I support their right to vote

You're still on that? I never said they don't have the right to vote; I just prefer they not avail themselves of it.

I prefer they do
I'm a huge supporter of the League of Woman voters
Their only goal is to get as many people as possible to register and vote
They have my total support
In my book, Stacy Abrams is a patriotic American Hero
She is right up there with the League

I think the system shold change such that you vote on a list of issues and the candidate that most closely matches your position gets your vote. Let's get rid of the candidates names on the ballot. I could see about 30 issues listed which you vote for or against.

Never happen
No agreement on the wording on a ballot regarding the issue
Some issues important and some minor
Some issue there is agreement but no agreement on how much to spend
Simple solution, list a name

PR residents have 7-33% taken out of their paychecks already for PR taxes.

Yes. They pay payroll taxes, social security taxes, business taxes, gift taxes, estate taxes. Statehood will add an additional 10-37% on top of that. I guess they can afford it.

Yeah, that's not a worthy goal at all, imo. Let's get as many people voting as possible because...why? What possible benefit can increasing both the number and ratio of poorly-informed voters have?

I mean, I know the answer, so I totally understand why they would do that.

Names are so hard to remember, though. Might as well list only the parties. (sarcasm)

0 to 37%. The first 12k or so (25k for married folks) is within the personal exemption. The 10-37% rate kicks in above that.

Median household income in PR is about 21k, so at least half of the households will owe no federal personal income tax.
