OK, if you could explain Texas next, that would be great.
Because no one is moving to Texas over the weather.

Fact
It has nothing to do with govt
It has everything to do with weather
You are so wrapped up in politics that you cant even see that it has nothing to do with politics
Thats a real fact
Ask Drich
Everybody moving to FL or moved to FL, its about the weather
I'm probably gonna winter in FL
Why
Not politics, its the weather

California has the best weather in the US
CA's population has stopped growing and in fact decreased in 2020
It ain't the weather.

Says the guy that lives in a State everyone is fleeing:

Michigan Population 2004: 10M
Michigan Population 2020: 10M (in timeframe US population increases 14%)

Florida Population 2004: 17.5M
Florida Population 2020: 21.7M

But again, don't let those facts get in the way of that narrative of which states suck as people vote with their feet.

You should move to FL if you love it so much.

Maybe you could use Ron DeSantis’s obese body as a flotation device once the ocean overtakes it. Good luck!

It ain't the weather.

Of course its the weather
Trying to change the subject to Cali does not change the fact that people move to Fl due to the weather
Ask DRich
Whats his primary reason for considering FL
The weather
Its everybody's reason for moving to FL
Its certainly not safer. Crime abounds in FL
What ridiculous reason do you think it is?

They think the steaming, stinking pile of ReTrumplicans there will attract new people.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there evidence that the glaciers are rapidly melting and the sea levels are rising?

Hello, discussion about building a sea wall to protect Miami.

Only since the last ice age. If you want more glaciers wait some time and another ice age will come. Always does. You prefer an ice age? Warmer is better.

Everything about Texas is ridiculous. They claim to value independence and autonomy, yet there are no legal casinos in the state. Speaking of independence, the state keeps going after an inconsequential tribe with an inconsequential little casino with Class II, "Electronic Bingo," games because...why? I have no idea why they would care; you would have to ask them.

In the meantime, it's one of only four states with active greyhound racing and, along with West Virginia, one of only two who are not phasing it out or have a scheduled year at which it will come to an end. The difference in West Virginia, not that it makes greyhound racing excusable, is that the law ties two Commercial Casinos to active greyhound tracks and creates a, "Greyhound Breeders Fund," that the casinos must also pay into. The casinos would get rid of the dogs if only they could; they lose a ton of money on offering the races.

Of course, Gulf Greyhound Park closed, one of the only positive Covid casualties...so I'm not sure Texas even has any live greyhound events this year. That's good.

It being Texas, I imagine they celebrate after racing days by shooting the winning dogs in the head. The only reason any tracks had ever had it in the last few decades was because the state tied it to being able to offer simulcast.

Of course, you let them throw some Game Kings in there and you wouldn't really need live racing or simulcast.

'Texas' and 'Culture,' are two words that don't belong in the same sentence. Speaking of independence, what would really serve them right is if we annexed their asses back to Mexico. You don't hear Vermont reminding you that it was its own country every five seconds, and for longer than Texas was, at that.

I plan on moving to Florida in about three months. High temperatures in the 70's to 90's sounds wonderful and I will finally get rid of my dry skin. After 30 years of living in Las Vegas my skin is dried like a prune. I can't wait for moisture in the air.

Yes, there was an ice age and yes we've warmed since then and it is likely that the natural warming trend will continue til it flips.

But that's not really the point now, is it?

The issue is the increased RATE or SPEED of change since we started pumping CO2 into the atmosphere.

The temperature is increasing now at a much faster rate than it has over the past thousand or so years, and the level of change is both unprecedented and scary, given the short and long term implications.

But hey, hide your head in the sand ... at least til the rising sea level / water table chokes the breath out of you.
