For years I took the RCMP in Grand Forks, BC to task for their mishandling of the Owen Rooney "missing person" case. I roundly criticised Canadian journalists for their programs dealing with a national and international search and their focus on Owen Rooney as a 'missing person' rather than murder victim. One woman on Vancouver Island thought somehow that Owen Rooney had treked from a picnic table at a rural aid station deep in BC all the way to Vancouver Island and had taken up door to door selling of hippie knick knacs. I persistently pointed out that while she claimed that Owen Rooney was one of three fund raisers who came to her door selling these wind chimes that day, her neighbors reported that there were no such salesmen that entire week and that the woman in question would no more know an Australian accent from an Austrian accent.

Yes, the music festival is alcohol free but it is by no means drug free, quite the opposite and people do indeed disappear from it (some cars have been left there for years). Yes, there are quite a few young men missing in BC after attending other music festivals. I acknowledged all of this and beat a constant tatoo: start at the picnic table and don't go far from it.

I knew the darned Horsemen were not chasing any of the distant sightings of Owen selling knick knacks door to door or driving a truck for a gravel company a thousand miles distant. They are not fools but I sure did think them lazy and foolishly placating the family. Even Hannah Gartner thought I was an idiot telling her to focus on the LKP and don't go far from it.

Well, a few weeks ago human remains were found 2.2 miles from the LKP. DNA tests proved conclusively that its Owen Rooney.

For seven years I kept saying start at the Last Known Position and don't go more than three miles. Family running around sticking up flyers all over the place for seven years because the RCMP want to be 'compasionate'. It appears he either walked off a cliff or was chased off a cliff by an unknown predator.

Seems to be mirroring Japan, except there they do not have actual basements for the most part. It used to be kids acting like this would be smacked upside the head and told to go act like a man and get to work. Today acting like a man is looked down upon in the popular culture. So well off parents just keep handing out the little money they need while the world passes them by.

Its crazy. Getting near 50 years of femminizing society now. Supposed to be what the women want. Yet the thanks I have gotten at the office from simple as fixing a computer to replacing the polar water bottle hard to believe. The water bottle, I was thirsty. Next few days like 3 of the women there thanked me. I get that much credit for something so flipping simple?

Still, at this point I try to limit interaction at the office. They ask for help, fine. Otherwise I go about my business. Sick of hurt feelings over nothing.
