Righties are using the testing shortage as being indicative of Biden's failure, but that isn't what's needed to minimize the spread of covid.

Universal vaccination is the best approach, but due to pig-headed "Live free or die" righties that won't happen.

Biden arguably should not be blamed: had most of us been vaccinated I suspect there would be much less demand for testing.

Plus, Omicron caught us with out pants down.

Sorry to hear it Mission. Get well soon.

And that sir is true altruism. Testing might be more of an inconvenience or expense to you guys, but if you give a damn about anyone of your circle of family or friends, it is just common decency to get tested and to quarantine. Not Either/Or, but both!

You act like giving someone Covid is a bad thing. All you are doing is slowing down reaching herd immunity.

Around the world and throughout the pandemic, many strategies were tried. Test and trace here in the UK, and contact testing armies of volunteers and some countries went big on lockdown, ventilator and ppe manufacture etc etc. The USA was never ahead of the curve, except maybe when some money was to be thrown about. There's lots of blame to go around and biden deserves some measure of it.
Omicron or some other letter was always on the horizon. Thankfully it was a less deadly variant. It could have been anything. still might.

Really? He could have simply done what he said he would do....get lots and lots of tests out there. He even admits to being late to his own promise.

Maybe Omicron would have overrun the amount anyone could make. The problem is he didn't do anything before to get home tests in every home.

Other countries did.

That might have helped lots of people who got sick earlier.

My governor is telling me not to get tested.
I kid you not

Wasn’t it 2020 that we were hearing about hospitals being overrun and that same year that the CDC itself advised not crowding the hospitals absent having at least moderate symptoms?

If the testing sites are backed up, then why is that a bad guideline now if it was a good one then?

Put another way, if every man in this country wanted to get checked for prostrate cancer weekly, we wouldn’t have enough nutsack doctors to do it. (No, I can’t remember what that type of doctor is called)

We originally thought herd immunity would result but many folks are contracting covid more than once.

Probably the best course is to get vaccinated in order to lessen the likelihood of serious illness and continue to get a booster until the pandemic abates.

Vaccinations are one of the ways we achieve herd immunity. Herd immunity, if we get there will mean we aren't dropping dead at the same rate not that we won't still be getting sick.

I am a "rightie" and I support vaccines and boosters but not mandates by the Federal government. Those should be done, as has survived challenges, at the State level.

I did not say that testing was more important. I said that the President promised more testing and he failed to deliver. It was a promise within h. He is power to keep.

How does someone as smart as you are dismiss testing as part of the equation?

Testing is important. We had tests. Tested a family member. Positive (double vaxxed 24 year old). Took immediate action. Isolated him. Followed CDC guidelines. Tested others. All vaxxed x2, most x3. Stopped the spread within the family, one of the danger areas of spread.

Who knows which vaxxed person who gets a bad variant will suffer from severe sickness or even death? Not you and not me. Since we don't know, we try to stop the spread.

Testing is critical. Even with the vaccines injected.

Get those contracts signed and production rolling! You'll still be behind but making progress....
How do you isolate someone that lives with you ? Like if I have a teenager that test +, what do I do with them? I sold my rv, that would have been perfect. Heat, shower etc., but no mas. What do I do with an infected guest?
