I think they care about 155mm shells that S Korea manufactures.
The west isn't supplying enough and S Korea could easily make up that gap

I agree with that but I still don't think Russia cares if North Korea or South Korea falls.

Trump had Orban over to his house Maga-la-go just a couple months ago. Signs point to forcing Ukraine into capitulation to Putin.

Quote:
Europe alone cannot shoulder the financial strain of supporting Ukraine against the ongoing Russian invasion, Hungarian leader Viktor Orban said Friday, warning that closely-allied President-elect Donald Trump will likely steer Washington out of the conflict.

"Europe alone cannot finance this war. Some people still want to, they still want to send enormous amounts of money to this otherwise lost war, but there is a growing number of people who remain silent, even though they used to be loud," Orban told national radio, in Google-translated comments reported by state-owned media outlet Magyar Tavirati Iroda

Obviously he can't force them to capitulate. Other than withhold further money and weapons to them he doesn't have a lot of other leverage. If that happens it will be interesting to see if the other NATO countries pick up the slack.

It wasn't very long ago that Ukrainian soldiers were rationing their ammunition before the new budget approval. It would be about as close to throttling them as you can get.

I think coming to a deal now would be absurd. North Korea is invading a European country and people want to come to a deal and not just take them down at whatever cost.... Like you can't make this stuff up...

The U.S. finally approved U.S. long range munitions to be used in Russia. The next week will be very interesting.

I expect the first targets will be the troop congregations around Kursk and the nearby Air Force bases that have only been minimally targeted.

Ballet dancer “loses balance” and falls from 5th story.

Quote:
Shklyarov condemned Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in a now-deleted Instagram post from March 2022, declaring his opposition to “all kinds of military actions.”
“It is impossible to watch everything that is happening today without tears,” Shklyarov wrote.

In contrast to Olga Smirnova, a star ballerina of the Bolshoi Ballet who fled Russia and moved to Europe, Shklyarov continued performing in Russia and refrained from further commenting on the war.

Could be legit. OTOH, if he was making private statements behind the scenes, it might have caught up with him.

Russia must have some targets like our Francis Scott Key bridge which can tie up movement for months if damaged enough. Plus, such areas are likely not to have nearby anti-air protection.

Should the ruskies decide to go nuclear, they would want to damage NATO interests in Europe, but still give Pres47 a get out of Jail card where he could say, "Well I did warn them not to. No need to strike the US over some French or British Stormshadows or over the decisions of our ousted Pres 46.'

I'm pretty pessimistic about world peace and can foresee only the worst outcomes in Ukraine.

Incidentally, a few fat European undersea cables got cut this weekend. Soft targets.. Ruskies also sailing around EU and UK oil rigs.
