Should the ruskies decide to go nuclear, they would want to damage NATO interests in Europe, but still give Pres47 a get out of Jail card where he could say, "Well I did warn them not to. No need to strike the US over some French or British Stormshadows or over the decisions of our ousted Pres 46.'

I'm pretty pessimistic about world peace and can foresee only the worst outcomes in Ukraine.

Incidentally, a few fat European undersea cables got cut this weekend. Soft targets.. Ruskies also sailing around EU and UK oil rigs.

As far as I'm concerned, Trump forcing Ukraine to come to the table and give up land (if that is the deal) is appeasement and another war lost by America. This time to the Russians.

If Putin get's his stolen territory this time, he'll think he's Peter the Great and Stalin rolled into one and, of course he'll know there are no limits on what the West will let him do. And all he's needing to do is make nuclear threats. America will be seen as putin's lapdog of a guard dog.

The US public and government might think ' Not our war, not our problem', but it's a stencil for how China will seize Taiwan. Don't need no Asian microchips? Think again.

I probably agree, but even so one thought comes to me:

The Dems must have hated RFKjr and others claiming that they were the war-monger party. I'm sure they reassured themselves, one and all, that this wasn't true. Then Biden escalates with his latest move... that can't be reassuring

or maybe nuclear war sounds OK ... to a bunch of war-mongers !!!

This war would never have happened if Trump was still President.

He saw what Putin was doing with his troop build-up and recognized it as an attempt to negotiate an agreement that Ukraine would not become a member of NATO.

All Biden ever did was throw more gasoline on the fire. Never an attempt to negotiate a settlement.

Thanks to Turkey, Putin and Zelinski exchanged papers in 2022 with Zelinsky accepting no NATO membership or US missiles on Russia's border.

Then it fell apart.

'U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson, following in the tradition of British anti-Russian war-mongering dating back to the Crimean War (1853-6), actually flew to Kiev to warn Zelensky against neutrality and the importance of Ukraine defeating Russia on the battlefield. Since that date, Ukraine has lost around 500,000 dead and is on the ropes on the battlefield.'

First of all, Putin said himself the reason was to de-Nazify Ukraine. Which is like a reason to kill mosquitos, not start a major invasion.

Second of all, the only reason to be afraid of NATO is you're a bad guy to begin with and are f***ing around. No chance at all NATO is going to mess with Russia unless it absolutely had to.

Third of all, Finland and Sweden didn't join NATO to attack Russia. Exactly the opposite. Because it's big lie that Russia was in danger.

Because he would have abandoned Ukraine in favor of Putin. He would've pulled a Neville Chamberlain. It's not that he would've stood up to Putin's aggression. He would've capitulated. Not only is he a threat to freedom here (Jan 6), he's a threat to freedom abroad.

Look what no NATO membership and no US missiles on Russia's border got Ukraine?

Rissian Ruble is about to collapse and the Russian central bank is running low on reserves so they probably will no longer be able to prop it up by buying Rubles on the open market. Most every country is refraining from buying anything from Russia in Rubles. Rubles are being dumped by everyone that has them because the writing is on the wall.

I'm really surprised Putin is still in power. He really blew it. He probably estimated a month , now it's year 3. Talk about miscalculation

Ruble has lost 10% of its value against the dollar in the last 10 days. A 10% move is huge in 10 days. It went from 96 to the dollar to over 104 today.

Mortgage rates in Russia are now 28%.

Even worse is there's a huge butter shortage in Russia, so bad that the supermarkets have to lock it up or people will steal it. DRich would starve to death in Russia there's nothing there he could eat.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.
