That may have been the most expensive Congressional primary race in history. AIPAC alone spent $15 million supporting Latimer, but Bowman appeared to be equally bankrolled. Bowman is the one who admitted to obstruction of federal proceedings after he pulled the fire alarm in the Capitol Building to delay a vote on a spending bill. Dozens of nightly television ads for weeks ahead of the primary, with Latimer portraying Bowman as being the more conservative candidate.
